I download the client and it takes ages then when it finally finished if I try and extract it, it says the files are corrupt, so I re-downloaded it, says the same files are corrupt, I'm using the official download and the downloader_v2.

I've had a beta key for about 2 months now.

That would involve re-downloading all the parts that are corrupt.. basicly re-download a 3rd time.. because all the parts that are corrupt are the biggest parts -.-. also I HATE torrents because I'm behind 3 routers and a NAT conversion gateway, so they are hell to setup.

Well, do as you please. Torrent only redownloads parts of files, not the entire file. And it's the only way for you to not re-download everything a 3rd time

I didn't think it was possible to download part of a .cab because of there compression type

First - have you tried an updated decompression program? Which one(s) are you using, and what version?

Second - have you tried extracting just one file at a time from within the archive, instead of all at once?

Well, it is. Torrent sees the files as a constant flow of data. It divides it into parts and each part has it's unique checksum. This all is defined inside the torrent.

So when it checks the file, it compares every pieces checksum with the ones you have. If it doesn't match, it marks it as "not (correctly) downloaded" and proceeds to download it.

Alright, open the archive in WinRAR, right-click and extract each of the data#.pck files one at a time. Or you can just click and drag the files out into a folder. Let us know if you have any problems with particular files.

if you have winrar 3.71 its should work, if it doesnt use the torrent to repair the missing sections from the zip file. Next time be smart and use the torrent before you even think of using normal methods.

Lol, interesting... did you have *.pck files assigned to a different program, or *.zip files? I'd like to know what happened, on the off-chance it happens to someone else. But good job on figuring it out! ^_^

lol, it wont happen to anyone else, I had every file type set to ignore all associations with programs except one, because I was testing a nw interface and it wasn't recognising my file types :P I'm suprised my IE was working LOL
