If you save it as 100 quality jpg in a decent program like photoshop or gimp it will look acceptable and be a little smaller. But png is lossless, jpg is not. Size is irrelevant these days, nobody has 56k.

Jesus christ, at least I keep my messes off my desktop and mostly restricted to the torrent, image, and download directories.

Quick launch folder shortcuts is so much easier than right clicking show desktop to hide all my open windows to click an icon...
