I played the Malaysia version of Perfect World. And there people had to pay for fashion items. Is Perfect World International going to make players play for the fashion items. Or just buy it with in game money? Does anyone know yet?

You can buy it with game money if :

1 - you use game money to buy ZEN sold by other players in the Auction House, then use it in the cash shop

2 - buy fashions from players who bought them in the cash shop an resells them in their cat shop.

Otherwise, you'll have to buy ZEN with real money and buy fashion with it.

Same game, different companies running them.

This one will be more up to date than the malaysian version tho.

    Well, they had to....

If they used the exact same names used on the MY-EN version, they could have sued them for having stolen their translation...

The other english version (Philippines) don't use the same translation than MY-EN either.

Legally, you cannot use someone else's translation, it belong to the translator.

Y'know this is something I should have thought of before but didn't. They're "americanizing" the class names, and probably all the skill and place names, but I bet we're going to be stuck with **** Chinese cat stalls again.

What does a fat Chinese cat have to do with a market stall anyway? I've always wondered that.

It's part of Chinese mythology so it deserve a place in the game. It's the Fortune Cat, a superstition that this "Fat Chinese Cat" brings great prosperity and fortune to the vendor. I would have to find the mythology again but it's kind of literally that each shop vendor that sold out and had great success had this cat lingering around their shop. That's why any Chinese shop/resturant you go to you'll see a Fortune Cat sitting somewere in the shop.

There is even specific rules on how the cat is suppose to be placed in order for it to bring you great Fortune, like must be somewere visible from the door when your customer's enter. Must face outwards to look upon the customers. Things like that again I would have to go researching again to get all the bits.

Same thing like myths of Nightngales if one sings a songs at your window someone is about to fall madly in love you in the near future, how a Raven is suppose to be a keeper of souls, hell how a dove is suppose to be a bringer of peace.

I would prefer different shop models. Like, being able to choose a shop model that looks like an axe stuck in a rock for a person that's selling weapons, or a chestplate on a stand for an armour-seller.

Really? I actually like that cat, one of the draws to this game for me is that it revolves around Chinese mythology and the Fortune Cat is such a fundamental part I thought that it fit perfectly being the vendor symbol.

Put a cat beside the rock that the axe is in, then. A big cat looks dumb if you disregard its background history.

Aww, comeon man were's that culturizing yourself. So what if it's a game, it's underlying premise or theme is that it's based around chinese mythology. Still prefer just the cat because an Weapon symbol starts driving more to a war theme and takes away from the culture symbols.

The culture was there when I first started... but after a while, it went stale. It happens in every game.

... Besides, war is what this game is based upon.

To me, the cat stalls make the game look awfully tacky. I mean they're big and crudely designed, they look like cheap plastic toys made in...

Oh okay, I guess it is culturally authentic.

    lmfao.

I wish they would do away with the cat stalls as they're downright disgusting and creepy, but sadly, I don't think it will happen.

Any model gets boring/looks rubbish when there are a hundred of them in the same area. Mix em up a bit perhaps.

the whole point why the stall model is this simple looking is because it helps reducing graphic lag as it has only few polygons compared to any other model in PW. Mixing up or replacing the model with something else will just increase graphic lag.
PW has been endless frustration for me #2

Nice balance between main-city performance and not have 200 apparently random, almost identical hanging cats plaguing all major areas of the game please.

for closed beta we might be able to try the cash shop items, just to see what they are like, but when the game actually goes open beta/gold, all but the base flying items, all fashion items, and such will all go to the cash shop.

no, he said the game will be free to play, spending money is optional. you don't have to use cash shop items to play the game.

most cash shop items (like fashion) are just a bonus.

yeah probably have an item mall. why else would they ask for your name and city. It said it was "optional" but if you don't fill it out, it won't let you go to the next step. Anyways, it says it'll speed up the process if they were to bill you. So yes there's an item mall.
