I've been poking around the forum and can't seem to find anything that explains weapons and armor in "n00b-terms". Can anyone give me some rudimentary information? I'd like the info by class, if possible. Thanks! :)

Magical robes - Enhance your magical defense, makes you resistant against magic.
Light Armor- Enhance your magical and physical defense, makes you resistant against magic and physical attacks.
Heavy Armor- Enhance your physical defense, makes you resistant against physical attacks.

*As Light Armor increases both Magic and Physic Defense the stats will be a little lower than on Robes/Heavy Armors

I am in the same boat, I wonder if I should go with spear for my "Blademaster" or the gloves...

So can we know percs to weapons, like hits realy hard, but has poor accuracy, or a weapon that Hits hard and accurate, but not as often.

    weapons used by blademasters/barbarian
    swords/blades
    spears/polearms
    hammers/axes
    gloves/claws

    archers:
    bows ( xbow,bow,and sligshots)

    clerics/venomancers/wizards:
    magic weapons ( wands,quoits, magic swords,staffs)

any class can use any type of weapon, but you wont be able to use the skills for that weapon, like your a cleric, you can use a bow (if you meet the stat requirements) and shoot normal shots..but u cant use the the bows skills, only archers can learn those

What's the difference between the Blademaster "sword" and the "magic sword" of the mage-people? Other than one is "magical".

Magical sword is basically just a staff for magic based classes that looks like a sword.

Normal swords are for physical attacks and magical swords for magical attacks.

Does anyone know their attack speeds? I am assuming some things- gloves are faster than axes, but I wanna be certain on this.

That is true. Gloves are the fastest attack.
Here is a site that shows all the weapon attributes. Higher "Attack Speed" numbers are faster. I think it stands for attacks per second?

Notice that even in the same weapon category, there may differences in attack speed?
I don't really know much about Blademaster, having mostly played Venomancer and Elf Cleric, but I think the information still applies.

The following is the page for armors. I forgot to mention the names may not stay the same for Perfect World International but the statistics should be similar.

are their shields in the game?

and about the knuckles, are they double-handed? or can you choose a separate one for each arm?

No shields. Only one weapon can be equipped - so fists are, of course, two-handed as are all the other weapons.

No off-hand weapons. Single weapons are just faster, and slightly weaker, while double weapons are slower, but stronger.

so basically 1h weaps help you gain rage(or whatever its called here) faster, while 2h weaps cause more skill damage because of higher min/max damage right?

Yes, that's right. I think they're calling it "chi" here (versus "vigor" in another version) but it's all basically a rage meter. Though, I think chi fills up quite fast while using skills also. Using skills is like the only way to fill up chi without an enemy target in Territory War (whereas outside of TW, one can also hoist/cuddle <3 )

You can't dual wield even though those are dual swords? Wow...that's stupid. :/

um... alvi I don't think you understand, it dual's them for you, when you dual wield, you get two weapons that look the same in each hand because they come in a set.
