No, archers are not weak in this game. Venomancer is also a good choice.

This game and its classes are fairly well balanced. Its more about equips and player skill imo.

The classes are well balanced. If there's any unfairness I could think of, it's that you can get hit with all sorts of awesome surprises if you don't know what you're doing. If you roll a Venomancer, you'll get to 60 and realise you can't join AoE parties. If you roll Archer or Cleric, you hit 60 and realise your best skills need cash shop items to function, with clerics getting pigeonholed into being portable array generators which takes all fun and involvement out of PvE encounters. There's a pretty large discrepancy in class maintenance costs, with Venomancers being self-sufficient, and making tons of money out of rare pets, while Barbarians burn all their money on armor repairs and casters spend a fortune on potions/hierograms.

Which is why you should put a bit of effort into researching what happens to your class through mid-levels and endgame, more than just build and gear-wise.

the above poster is pretty much right...

but a few things on your classes of choice, archer is kind of hard on low levels, since you have very little mana, youll need lots of potions, or cash items to function decently. It pretty much shines in pvp overall though.

venomancer as its called here is pretty good in PvE, and quite easy and cheap to play, since you can play lazy if you want, and let your pet do most of the work, including taking hits.

That always make me laugh. Let's check a party going for a HH boss....

So you have this cleric who pop up the blue bubble, go sip a beer and come back when the boss is done.

Then you have this other cleric who pop up the red bubble, go sip a pepsi and come back when th boss is done.

Then you have this venomancer who must :

    - make sure his pet stay alive and use the right skill at the right moment.
    - provide his tank with as much fury as possible.
    - attack the boss with the right skill at the right time (armour break, amplify maim, etc...)
    - stay alive when he steal aggro
    - use his regen skill at the right time.

Yes.. Venomancer is such a lazy job....

yep you are right VM, i am not a venomancer i have a elf archer but being a venomancer can be hard, you have to lvl up your pet and make sure it is the same lvl as you , and later lvls you'll be stuck not being invited to any parties but soloing all day long which SUXS, but VMs are bad azz later lvl. when i pvp one i have to stay far away from them or their pet could pwn me :D plus u can afk xp with them lol. Go to sleep while your pet does the work all the monsters as to do is hit you :p. check class discussion section on the class you are thinking of. All ways have a plan or build b4 u play or you'll regret it.
WF also have really nice debuffs , check some youtube video onthem pvping they kick azz

So, if I'm an elf archer, and I get to higher levels, do I need to buy stuff from cash shop to be strong? I that's the case... I think I may need to change my choice... I don't have much money to spare to spend on my character. College is expensive!

No you don't. Doing so would make you levelling faster, make your playing easier. But it's absolutely not a requirement.

For exemple : magic energy and life .

In the cash shop, you can buy "hierograms" (or whatever name they'll give it here). Those, when the value of your HP/MP reach 50% or lower, kicks in and replenish your HP/MP instantly. Potion can be used, but their effect is slower/ not as strong.

So someone using those will have an advantage over you, but you can still reach high level without them. It only means you'll not level as fast / die more often / fly and run slower than someone who do use the cash shop.

karmelia is a lying n00b, and is probably trying to seek early advantage over new players.

if you don't use cash shop you will be weak sauce and easy pickings for any pker, and at higher levels most players will buy things for xp as the xp rate is so low.

the troll is telling the truth... you definetely need a hiero for PvPing.... and you need dolls.... oh and archers need hieros to AoE grind at 60+... so yea, it's an expensive class. I would suggest you to go for a priest or mage, they are way cheaper to lvl at 60+ and they pwn in PvP

Your two classes can both be argued as the "Best PKer" in PW.

    I'd say:

    1. Archer
    2. Mage/Priest
    3. WF
    4. WR
    5. WB

WFs have problems dealing with WRs and WBs... so I don't really consider them to be one of the best PKers ingame

Well, I've been PKd by Myth and Black Venomancers enough to know that they don't have much problem killing Blademasters ;)

And, on the other hand, everyone has trouble killing WBs :p

Im a really acitve PKer with my 93 EA on Delphi. My Equipment is kinda good and my build is pure AGI . I got 95 str to wear the 90 HH Armor, and the rest is pure AGI. 26% Crit Chance, and I can kill WB,WR,WF,EP,EA,MG.... It always depends up on their playstyle/skill. Werebeasts are kinda hard to kill.. I need my Heaven Fury to kill them and 1-2 lucky Crits. But the average HP of a WB is 10k, with Heaven Fury I can crit a maximum of ~7-10k on a WB... soo 1 Crit= hiero tick, 2-3 = dead...
A really good PK class is the WF. Cause of the Bleed-Bug.. without that bug.. WF would be .. hmm.. "weaker", but WF is still a strong PK class, cause they can debuff etc.. EPs are strong too, cause of their Barrier. It absorbs way too much dmg, for a too long time.WRs are strong, but their dmg and how long they can survive depends 75% up on their Equipment. MGs damage is very high, especially against Heavy/Light Armor, but they are easy to kill.WB hmm.. WB.. the damage is quite low, but they are hard to kill.. cause of their big amount of HP, especially if they're using a Hierogram.
    So:
Every Class can be good in PK.
I dont think theres a "best" PVP/PK Class. If you can play your Character well, you can pwn many ppl.

    Not everyone is into PvP.

And AoE is not mandatory to level either.

Quite true. Butterflies and fishing will get you from 70-90 faster than AoE if you're an Archer/Wizard/Cleric/Venomancer.

PvP includes TW, right? Because I'm actually really excited about that. I won't be doing my PKing either, unless I feel the need to. :D

and everyone forgot to mention that you can buy the cashshop items off other players >_> meaning you can still do everything just as well if you don't spend real money..just have to work harder to get ingame gold to buy it unless you have a nice cash shop buying friend ;)
