Area of Effect. Certain attacks or spells that affects and/or damage creatures in a certain range around you, in front of you or in an angle.

Chars with area of effects attacks/spells tend to be very popular in leveling parties.

I think me may add something to this definition for abbreviation AoE has broader meaning in PW.

Sometimes on world chat we can see announcements like: XX looking for AoE party. What XX is looking for? AoE party is a party that consists of Cleric, DDs, lurers. Now who are these and what's their role:

Cleric: sets "blue ball" - a spell that constantly regenerates HP of party members in certain range and decreases the damage received.

DDs: "damage dealers" - archers or wizards. They set their AoE spells.

lurers: blademasters or barbarians - they lure mobs into the range of DDs' AoE spells.

In this way players can kill much more mobs then if they were grinding alone. A very expensive way for clerics and DDs though, as they have to use hierograms (things that regenerate mana points or health points, cost a lot of money) for their spells are mana-consuming.

AoEs can be set only in suitable places - lots of melee attack mobs with fast respawn.

If anybody has something to add to or correct in my definition, You are encouraged to do it. I hope somebody finds it helpful.
