I'm too scared to ride a bike, cause' if I were to get involved in a crash, it would be fatal. :(

I would love to get a motorcycle, but unfortunately I already have enough problems keeping my car under the speed limit. ;)

So.. please excuse my noobness here, but I just recently found the game, and had a sneaking suspicion that it looks like you might be confirming here... will there be in game items that will cost actual money, as opposed to in game currency? I'm assuming that's what the 'Item Mall' is, but haven't found confirmation yet. (not that I was motivated enough to search long or hard)

Nevermind, I should have read the ENTIRE thread before posting... the use of credit cards to purchase items seems to make that answer obvious.

So the next question! Is it normally a necessity to purchase items through the Item Mall, or is the Item Mall only used to sell 'cosmetic perks'?

Yeah, that's what it is. The game has to be supported financially somehow.

There will be an optional item mall for those who would like to spend real cash.

There will be multiple payment methods available upon the opening of our cash shop. We are making sure to provide users with as many ways as possible to safely purchase Zen.

That's what I figured ^_^... I just hope that either A) it isn't too expensive or B) it's truly optional... I've seen a few posts so far suggesting that getting anywhere in the game is almost impossible without buying things like exp scrolls, for example.

Oh, any item mall item can be bought with in-game gold. Spending real money is entirely optional. :D
I don't really think it's all that expensive either, actually... Depends on what you think is expensive, though, I guess.

    Awesome! Thanks for the info!

I have to say, from the pieces of the forum I've visited so far, this seems to be one of the more helpful and least antagonistic communities around. I'm sure that'll change once things go live though, they always do.

It is possible to make it far in game without spending real money. Everything in the cash shop can be bought in game from other players for in-game gold, even cubigold, although I'm not sure if that will be allowed on PW-International or not.

I levelled a WF to 91 without using one XP scroll.

As for the prices, 2 thing must be taken into account :

1 - the cost of cash shop items
2 - the cost of buying the cash shop currency.

If you compare Malaysian english and Japanese server for exemple :

Cash shop items prices were almost always cheaper in the japanese cash shop. By a lot sometimes.

    But...

To buy 100 units of cash shop currency would cost me around us$30 for the MY-EN server compared to us$94 for the japanese server...

What I do hope is that the World Chat trumpets will be sold at a high enough price so people won't be able to use them to spam world chat with senseless stupidities like I saw on the malaysia servers...
Frankieraye said : "we can promise that we will work to improve all facets of community, engineering, and customer service to ensure that something like this doesn't happen again."

(We are still waiting to see any improvements or changes beign implemented. More empty promises from PWI?)

Yeah, but I grind in remote areas where trade chat can't be heard like the world chat :D
