Why did you change class names?

Everyone's just going to continue to call them WR, WB, etc. Besides, "Werebeast" and "Werefox" made much more sense. A "berserker" is someone who goes fully offensive and hits like a train but isn't a defensive powerhouse. Werebeasts don't follow that description at all...

    Where did you get Berserker from? The Untamed classes are Barbarian and Venomancer.

    Unless there was a change within the last hour or so, Werebeasts will be called Barbarians here.

    As answered by a staff member in another thread (not a direct quote, just something alone the lines of what they said..) they changed the class names because this is a different server, different company and a different environment. I guess they want a new feel.

    I think werefox and werebeast is cooler sounding, too.

    Speaking of the werebeast, wouldn't it be sweet if the Panda werebeast player could turn into a panda instead of a tiger? That would be awesome :)

    Was wonderin the same thing. It not like it sound better lol as long as they didnt change anything else for the worse other then that i cant wait:D

    Those weren't in english, and that's why they were quickly put out of use.

    I am wondering. Is it just my browser or has the Class Information Page on the site gotten messed up? Pretty obvious that the information should slot in to that big blank space on the website, but it's going below like something with the CSS is wrong or something.

    That was definitely not the reason. People use names they get used to and most of the population knows. Atm, many people from my-en come here but sooner or later there will be more people who never played PW before and those new class names will be the only ones they know. So to properly communicate with each other, players will have two options:
    - teach the newcomers the old class names (unlikely)
    - start using new class names (most likely)

    This goes for everything else, too. (Skill, location, npc names etc)

    @tenkei: which browser are you using? It looks fine in FF2 & FF3

    This issue was addressed in the General Forums:

    "I realize that some of you aren't really feeling the new class names. I could go into all the fine details as to why we changed this and why we changed that. However the bottom line is that we really feel that Perfect World International is a fresh version of Perfect World. We wanted to complete that sense by localizing the class names in addition to the game's text."
