Can you give a point by point comparison between this version of PW and the one in China?

How far behind is the content between this version and China?

How far behind is the client?

How far behind will our updates be (in weeks? months?) between this one and Chinas?

Sorry if the above was not optimistic, but I'm coming from another version of PW (OFFICIAL!!!) hosted in another country (lag and all), and they were pretty out of date, with the only updates being ca$h shop items, and a ton of features that were there, but NOT ACTIVATED. All kinds of pet rides, flying mounts, housing, Level 1 TW, fashion, dungeons, etc were in there, but not turned on.

Just wondering what my experience here will be like...

Basically, anybody who does any research will know all the features/fashion/mounts that are available in the Chinese version. What of those, are NOT in this version, and any idea when they will be added?

And if you could drop a hit or 2 as to the price of some cas$h shop items here...

Thank you very much for opening a PW here in NA. The Anti-Lag. :)

It's probably gonna be pretty up to date with MY version, if not further. They already talk about marriage, which the the latest MY update.

First of all let me say thanks for your post and enthusiasm for Perfect World.

Now regarding the differences between our version and the existing version in China. Our version will be 100% localized. I'm not just talking about directly translating text, I'm talking about translating AND localizing the text for the North American Region. Second to localization, our quality of service will be of the highest standard. Lastly, we have devoted a lot of time and money to our technical infrastructure. A lot of us here at PWE are gamers and understand what it feels like to lag in an MMO. We find lag to be unacceptable.

Now with regard to the version and updates. I can't give away all our details as of now, you'll have to wait till beta. :)

Just curious, how many Gm's will be on duty per server...it would be nice to know if there is one always on to report botters and gold sellers so i was just wondering.

know that we have a trusty group of GMs making the rounds to ensure that everything is on the up and up~

we hate botters and gs'ers as much as you.

    Hi All,

I'm new to Perfect World and am coming in a bit blind. I am hoping to clarify the following: (If information is available on the website, please provide a link. After scouring this site, I didn't find a great deal of information.)

    General:
    • What distinguishes this game from the typical Korean grind fest?
    • Is there a link to the cash shop? How would you describe the balance between cash shop items and non-cash items? Will players have access to cash shop items via "rare drop" mechanics?
    • Is re-stat or re-skilling available? If so how? (ie. 'oops I'm a noob and messed up my character, how do I reset!?')

    The Grind:
    • I've read that quests level you from lvl 1-30. At lvl 31+ please describe the grind - how long does it take to reach the next level?
    • Do you ever 'run out of quests?' (ie. At what level do the quests end?)
    • What is the max level?

    PvP
    • What incentives are provided to encourage PvP?
    • What protection is there for new players from gankers?

    PvE
    • Is content primarily solo or group based?

[*]Quests, it is easily possible to level to 40 with only quests. After that you get repeatable daily quests, which do give a good amount of XP! So if you have the gold you can rely upon them to level. Graphics are amazing compared to many MMORPGs and most importantly the class balance is very good. Plus Territorial Wars are supposed to be fun and maybe housing?
[*]In MY-EN there is an auction hall. Through this you can buy the 'item mall credits' (unsure of new name) for real money. As for the items, it is quite easy to level to high levels without Item mall items. These items only help you get there faster! Heiro's are probably the most unbalanced item in it. Items range from: faster flying mounts -> pet rides -> fashion etc. (No weapons or armor!)
      [*]Item mall

[*]More like up to level 40 if you don't die too much. After that you can either rely on repeatable quests, dragon quests or grind. The grind isn't that bad, but it does depend on the class. I'll say the grind is much better than most other asian MMORPGs
[*]I believe you receive quests at every level, but the higher you are the less the quests cut into your XP needed to level
[*]In MY-EN the max level is 105, not sure here

          [*]Territorial wars, Duels
[*]When you attack someone you go pink, when you kill someone (unless in self-defense) you go red. Pink people have a small drop rate of items if killed, red people have a high drop rate of items if killed

          • Both, it is quite easy to kill normal mobs solo (although faster in a party). Most bosses and dungeons must be tackled in a party (unless is the Werefox class, or Venomancer). It does actually encourage high level parties for FBs. Which you do every #9 of your level (level 19, 29, 39 etc). These are very hard for your level, but reward well, and reward high levels well too, so provides incentive.

As I have said most of these are based on Perfect World MY-EN. Which although is a different game (of sorts). The code will be the same, with only the names and how far into the updates this game is. Plus some prices/XP gain could be different too.

Thank you for the comprehensive and quick response.

You mentioned Territorial Wars are SUPPOSED to be fun? O.o Have you not participated in them as of yet? If not, why not? (I'm hoping this isn't one of those games that promises you great entertainment, but only AFTER you've invested 500+ hours into it! ^__^)

territorial Wars are end-game content, so unfortunately it will be after you have invested a lot of time into the game (although I did mention it isn't as much as 500+ hours as it is possible to progress with repeatable quests...)

The reason I said supposed, is because I have never participated in one. But I have read about people who have and even viewed a video on youtube on one!

                Right-o.

So no PvP without (I assume) extreme penalties until I've already beaten the game.

Guess I'll have to work a little before I get to enjoy some of the game features (hope it's worth it!) :p

                Thanks again for the help!

@alphaone: well, duel has no penalty and it's pvp so... besides, those penalties for PKing someone didn't stop people from doing so :p
PW has been endless frustration for me #2

                Some more questions:

1.) How many Servers will be on PW-INT, is there anything out already? on MY-EN there were two, Oracle and Delphi, I wonder if this will be the same for this version.

2.) Will there be character wipes during/after CB, later OB? Anything known regarding that?

I'm pretty sure that there will be a wipe after CB, in fact I'm about 100% sure. After OB, I doubt there will be a wipe. I really only remember a couple games doing that, one of them being Requiem: Bloodymare.

                Territory Wars ARE fun!!!

And I would not say that TW is for "end game" players.. Couldnt be further from the truth... I've participated in TW on the MY-EN version from before I was lvl 70... I'm lvl 99 there now... and there is nothing like waiting for the weekend to have guilt free (ie: no red name/no risk of dropping) for up to 3 hours... Its about strategy and teamwork...

Any unclaimed territories, your guild will be up against mobs.. There is some nice videos on youtube of Espada (from MY-EN Delphi) when they took DSP and the bosses that they had to kill.
