Today, I bring some news about Perfect World, the company itself. Since they are the developers of our game and our updates depend on them, I thought it would be interesting to discuss this topic.

On June 24, Perfect World became a hot topic on Chinese websites (sources below). Rumors began circulating that Perfect World had laid off over 1,000 workers. The company, which has three buildings, now reportedly has two of these buildings empty, leading to increased hostility among remaining employees. Additionally, two highly anticipated games, "One Punch Man" and "Perfect New World," have been suspended.

Looking at the facts, in 2021, the company's net profit reached only 30% of its target. In 2022, the net profit fell by more than 60%. This year, in April, the company's first-quarter report showed an almost 30 million loss. The company is attempting to reorganize to address this situation but has yet to find success.

Players on Chinese forums have already started to panic, with comments like "the game will shut down" and "stop spending money."

An interesting fact about "One Punch Man World" is that while the game is still in development in China, the global version has been running since February. However, it is not generating revenue, and some content creators believe the game may shut down soon. To make matters worse, it has been almost a month since the game has had a new banner or event. As a gacha game, it relies on new banners to generate income.

This post is not intended to alarm anyone but to comment on what is happening with the game's developers. Many things might be exaggerated.

The better choice would be to put focus back on their old PW. The new one is probably not worth the while. Yes better graphics, but if they would then put all efforts in salvaging their old game, even upgrade to unity/unreal engine, it would be better than establishing a new game which has nothing to do with the actual franchise, but sharing name and races. This also triggered me massively on their mobile attempt on the title, which has altered the classes so much, so they are completely different races like Assassins are untamed and Psychic is Human and Mystic is not even a mystic anymore, it is Space-time-controller and an elf class. Idk this is just weird and I'd honestly prefer, if they put focus on their main game for now and re-add a few things that kept people at bay.

It's strange that they halted the One Punch Man World and Perfect New World projects, yet now they've released a trailer and gameplay footage for a new gacha game. The new game appears to be a blend of Genshin Impact and GTA, and registration is currently open. This game is developed by Hotta Studio, a subsidiary of Perfect World, known for developing another Perfect World game, Tower of Fantasy.
