Rank 8 Stage 2 and 3 not 4 Sockets

I was reading up on gearing a for my character and picked the Rank 8 gear over the G16 armor as it has a guarantee 4 sockets on stage 2 and stage 3 according to the wiki.
Please see link for your reference.

But my but instead I only have chest and 4 Sockets and rest of my gear is 3.
I assume it could be a bug in game and everyone I spoke to send that the gear should be 4 Sockets.
Please can a GM/Dev you assist.

When I made my set in 2020 it came out with 4 sockets. I don't know if anything changed that recently in a new patch. Did you reroll it perhaps, or was it your first roll? I heard on first roll it should be always 4 sockets.

    Thanks you for the replay.

It was my first roll I have ask around in the guild and there is more people that experience this problem. It Seems to be a bug as if you have a look at the reroll forges it say does not reroll sockets only stats.
SO it is now impossible to get more sockets only way is 24k sockets stones.

There was a change yes, in a specific update it was removed the cost of Chienkun Stone to keep sockets, so when upgrading the R8 stage 1 to R8 stage 2 probably you checked the option to keep the sockets (that usually are 2 ou 3 to R8s1), I already saw in pwbr a guy with a R9 piece with 2 sockets because he checked the option to keep the sockets when upgrading R8s3 to R9s3

Reaching out to the in game or customer support of the game is the first and most straightforward choice. The greatest people to contact with concerns about possible bugs, item descriptions, or in-game mechanics are often game masters (GMs) or support personnel.
