Name change and whispers

I used an Identey Stone to change my name but people can still whisper me using my old name. Is this forever or does it eventually stop working. I changed my name yesterday, have relogged and I still get whispers with them using my old name and they are not on my friends list.

    I just tried to whisper my characters that changed name, using my old names. Says character offline, so it should stop eventually.
    Sometimes people see your old names in faction list etc regardless of what you do. I have always suspected this to be because they still need to relog. So if they dont relog for a whole week, it should at latest be fixed at next maintenance, where their character will get forced to go offline.
