What now?

Long story short, I stopped playing PWI 5 years back. Fast forward to this date, I have reinstalled the game, made a new character and kept doing the new quests. Boy, levelling up was on steroids! Touched level 27 with few hours of playing. I have unlocked Plume City and the quests for adjacent areas(Bamboo Forest, Dreaming Stronghold). Damn, I feel nostalgic. I also got the quests near Archosaur but I don't really want to do those again(I did them with all my characters back then). Is there any way to level up without doing those quests again? Am I missing something? On a side note, has the player based dropped so much? Back then the zone near General Summer waws flooded with catshops and people buying, now there is only a few shops with hardly anyone buying.

The only alternative you have to questing is probably PV from lvl 34 (i think?), which on its own won't be enough to level at a fast pace. They revamped the low lvl quests a while back so new players can fast forward through those early levels, though after lvl 80 is starts to become slow again. So honestly, no, there is no way to lvl without those quests. And yes, the playerbase has decreased dramatically. Most new players give up the game after a few weeks/months of playing because the grind after lvl 100 is ridiculous and takes too much effort to catch up. ☆ Pixel ♥ Heart ☆ Etherblade ☆0

Welcome back! As for the quests around Arch, although you may have to do a lot of them again, quests which used to be "kill 40 X" may still say that you need to kill that many, but the count that you will have in quests will be 5 instead. And each quest will give more experience than it used to. And they have turned off aggro for a LOT of mobs, so the quests are easier that way too (especially the quests at the mines West of Arch, almost everything used to aggro, now I think Charr is the only thing that aggros)
Also watch for red quests, a lot of experience, and Crazy Stone quests start at 30 I think. Plus the daily check in gives something like 15% to next level each day in 30s. Or of course just buy one of the pills that will get you the experience for level 95 instantly.
So with all of that as you can see, PW has decided that low level PvE (which made the game so popular) has been nearly bypassed now, so you'll be doing high level quests quite soon. Yes, there are fewer new players, so I am sure that they will introduce more content toward eliminating low level PvE soon.0
