Weird "Tip" in Loading Screen

Don't know where this should go, and I thought it was gone this morning, but I just got it again, and it's really weird.
It says "Don't stand atop an NPC's head. That will cause your saves to get corrupted."
What saves ?? This is a MMORPG, those usually don't have saves.
Is it a joke? Has anyone else noticed this? And does anyone know if it's even supposed to be there?

The last time I got that "tip" It said something like this: "Don't stand atop an NPC's head. That will cause them to get angry and something else". "That soething else" was a clear reference to the rubberband glitch you get when you stand on it's head.
As I see it, It's a joke and a way to say "We are lazy, we will never fix the rubberband glitch".
Edit: It didnt literally say "Something else", with that i meant that I forgot what else it said xD0 -
I'm pretty sure they just tried to avoid saying "Don't stand atop an NPC's head. It annoys the hell out of other people"0

Standing on the npc's head could corupt your quest for that npc. this was brought up before.0

you cant stand on top of NPCs anymore since 3 years now?0

Actually your character data is saved on the network. If the info wasn't saved, when you logged in, you would be back to where you started the last time you logged in.0 -

To a point yes.
It can cause issues when jumping on the NPCs, Ive known people to get completely stuck and above all things can result in the system auto banning you. Ive not herd of it in a long time but something i would not really suggest as a rule. O and PK mode on a guards head is not a good idea either... (My experience of playing PWI for 6 months and first time in PK mode)
kinda reminds me of the lockout problem where if an instance crashes you cant get back in until its restarted.
Overall seams like an april fools one to me...0 -

I haven't rubberbanded in ages off of an NPC's head, so I thought this was fixed?
And yes that messages been around for ages. I wonder if we should ever change it... (or if it's even possible to change it) *thinks*0 -
lol, then you get those that want you to click on them by accident by crowding on npc's ect... keep em scared! Used to be horrible all those going afk ect on npc's. pretty rare knowaday's, love to keep it clean like that xD.0

So I guess it's a joke, and people have been speculating about it for years. Suppose it was just a coincidence then that I only noticed it after the patch(the one that messed up all those dungeons that I've never been to).0

My understanding was that it was a joke. Not sure if it was a self-depreciating joke though since there really was a rubberbanding glitch if you stood on an NPC's head while slightly out of sync with the server. Tapping a movement key would help fix the desync -- or just flying.
Personally it was a little minigame for me, trying to land on their head when flying to an NPC.sage barb best barb0
