Sins vs Duskblade

I've been away for many years and decided to come back.
out of boredom for playing HA mains, i'm thinking of creating LA DD.
used to be that you play archer for sniping people from afar and assassin for sneaking about and killing people in close range.
However with the arrival of the duskblade class i can't help of wondering the difference between sins and DB in terms of both pvp/pve role (in dungeons etc) and why so many people nowadays QQ so much about duskblade being OP.
please refrain from stating the obvious such as "weeeell sins use daggers while duskblade uses sabers XDXDXDXDXD" ty.

PVE-wise: DBs have a squad buff that increases skill damage by 15%. Sins have bloodpaint which helps melee classes. Both do great damage. Sins can get high aps a bit easier, but aps isn't that useful in most endgame dungeons now.
PVP-wise: Duskblades are a "lock" class. They have multiple methods of paralyzing opponents which knocks them down and there really is no counter to it. They also have some very good damage skills, however they can't maintain their lock when they use these. Sins have stealth, can avoid status easily, can avoid dying once, and have stupidly high damage. Their stunlocking ability is nowhere near as good as DBs, although it will be getting a boost soon.
Both classes are good in 1v1 or small engagements, and not as effective in mass combat. Archer is a better class for mass pvp, but it's one of the weaker classes in other areas.0 -

Not quite. They can maintain their lock. It just needs a bit of practice and know-How.
Overall, Duskblades can deal more damage than both sin and Archer in PvE (by far if you do it right). Duskblades are also more effective when put against other classes in a 1v1 due to the aforementioned locking ability. Assassins get paralyze as well with the new expansion but as Duskblades can spam paralyze you cant really compare it to them.
Duskblades also have tons of skills to reduce damage/evade status effects/stay alive and heavily outnumber any other class in the game (cept maybe clerics) in the sheer number of such skills. However, assassins can still live alot longer on average due to their Tidal Protection (66% chance to evade any negative status effect in the Sage-Version of the skill).
In PvP Assassins can deal higher/quicker damage than Duskblades because their skills got crazy multipliers which is why Assassins are often regarded as the "braindead" class. Equally geared caster/other LA are often oneshot from a single skill if you land a zerkcrit.
Despite all this you could also find enjoyment in playing the archer class. They just got a massive boost thanks to the new update and still revolve around kiting and sniping people, more so then ever. Keep in mind that an Archer can hardly pinpoint an enemy quite like Assassins and Duskblades but they have other perks like quite powerful ranged debuffs/CC/Damage. I personally like playing archer the most because it's alot of fun and somewhat of a challange.
Duskblades and Assassins can be considered the most OP classes in the game. Yes. But there is a use for any class in PvP and PvE as well but be aware that you won't be dealing as much damage as equally geared sins and dbs in PvE as long as you don't get a g17 zerk weapon (which is very expensive) and the new glyph update on all your skills.
If you plan on staying max g16 nirvana geared I recommend that you go with Duskblade as this class gets you the most out of your gear in any situation you can find yourself in. It'S all up to personal preference in the end

So basically
Damage wise, Sins>DB
CC skills wise, DB>Sins
Tanky/survivability wise, Sins>DB?
So how come people always QQ about DB being OP and very rarely about sins being OP??0 -
Like the above, dbs have heavy use of paralyze which has no counter in the game, and combine that with their excessive amount of escapes, if you manage to avoid being locked the db can just wait until your immunity is down and lock you again.

I've been away for many years and decided to come back.
out of boredom for playing HA mains, i'm thinking of creating LA DD.
PVE:
Archers are generally considered undesirable. Spike damage is wanted in most instance, and Archers only benefit from the basic physical and from metal debuffs. They don't have a strong party buff.
Dusks are mostly in the same boat. They have a fairly nice party buff though, that death won't reset.
Sins are in demand still. BP eliminates the need to heal most melee, and oneshotting bosses with Death Chain is a timesaver on many instances. While I don't have the numbers to say this definitively, at the same gear I think the Sin hits harder as well in terms of sheer spike damage output.
PvP:
Archers... well, hit physical from range and that's about it. Purge bow can be a cheap invent-a-veno in a pinch but overall, this class is not considered the best in one on ones from what I've read. In mass PVP a group of archers coordinating can be very harsh on enemy arcanes however. Archer buff can be handy as it increases movement speed a little - but it usually does not last long since the first holypath or other speedskill overwrites it. Evasion tends to be less-then-useful.
Dusks: As said above - many many many unbreakable spammable paralyze skills. Probably the best LA class if you want to agressively stunlock something in a one on one until a player runs out of escapes. In mass PVP their buff is very useful since it will not go away on death.
Sins: Tidal allows them to evade a lot of debuffs. They've got a nice amount of stuns, and an escape skill, and stealth. A good PVP option for a more defensive/opportunistic player, and most likely the hard counter to the Dusks (due to the status evasion making stunlocks on sins harder to pull off). In mass PVP they can stealth and pick off healers or stragglers or scout and call targets. BP is useless in PvP for the most.... forget your fears. And want no more...
