ive never used this name anywhere else and kinda want it changed to match my main ingame

    I believe (?) this is possible, but I will have to find out more when I am back in the office. I know I had asked a long time ago, but more because my name is uh... not appropriate for the forums on my main HA!

    No, it's not because of the way the forum login works. It uses the name on your account as it is synced from the PWE account. Because of the way Vanilla works, they would likely have to disable the SSO login for it to work. Disable SSO and the forum would require a completely separate login/account with Vanilla.

    I did some testing with this on a Vanilla forum I created. Even after changing the account name, once you login from the PWE site, it changes your user name back to the account name at PWE.​​

    @sylenthunder That's a shame! I'll reconfirm when I get into the office, but Vanilla has always given me and a few other people at the office issues, so wouldn't be surprised if it did some weird stuff.

    Back when vanilla was first introduced this was actually a feature they offered. then when they stripped all the other games from the forums (giving each their seperate i believe) and we lost the ability to change it along with the PM functions. i specifically remember changing my forum name from what it was to Sirkura, then losing it. Finally i opted to just make an alt account with the proper name to post with.

    It seems vanilla doesn't actually read the forum names so much as the ID associated with it. Its why every name you type has numbers behind it. It also allows for duplicate names on the forums. Sylen you are correct that vanilla is linked to your PWI log in user name, but the user name is completely different from your forum name or at least used to be. when you sign up initially you were asked for an account name and email, a forum name, and a password. Then again I also have had an old account from before vanilla.
