Well Cant Say I have ever had that happen. I wonder if the map spawns where you have walked. My advise would be to try if possible not to walk to close to objects like that. This is a really if you can help it.

Maps pop up in a specific are if the x is in the rock formation the map is going pop in the rock formation...
