FIx Gold shop AKA GM's Come and sell gold at a set price

Just a suggestion I know this has been a problem for the past 6 months on Twilight Temple server and i'm pretty sure it's happening on other servers as well...
The gold in the auction house is maxed out at roughly 4mill coin due to this 2.5k gold is being bought at 4mill daily with no luck of getting any, people have even taken to world chat to sell gold at a higher price and still achieve there spend promo rewards....
My suggestion is for GM's to set up x amount of gold per day or simply raise the cap in Auction House so that people may get spend promo items like we used to through in game coin....

A GM set price of gold would stop the so called inflation that many people complain about in the in game economy and would be a way to balance the gap between Cash shoppers, as much as I love them for paying for the game, and the normal players who are struggling to keep up...

I hope this is taken in to consideration cause this would really fix or not balance the in game economy.

I would love some feedback from other players on this idea please let PWE know what we think <3.

Regards, Prespire Twilight Temple

Pretty much the max 'buy' price of gold is 4M, one would argue than if people would sell it for lower then the price would normalize, the problem is that in TT the economy is so ****** up, that there are thousands, thousands of people queued to buy at that price, and so there is no hope of the price ever going down until the queue of people buying clears up, sadly that is not gonna happen and I see no work around either, removimg the cap will make the price soar beyond 5M easily, people will surely sell at the new cap.

I would like a solution as well but the underline problem is that there is too much ingame money circulating, I know people with dozens of billions (probably hundred of billions) and these guys buy at any price which makes it extremely unfair for other players, the price will not go down until everyone agrees to never buy for 4m+ and I dont see how is that gonna happen.

Cap raising in AH would require CN doing it, and that'll take some time.

I think PWE has been generally "hands off" when it came to the in game economy as far as setting "prices" of items (I'm not counting the AH events though as a price setting standard since I feel like this is mostly for the anniversary and is sort of outside the norm for this game). I think there's definitely a hording issue coupled with packs pumping in coin into the economy out of "thin air".

Homestead was supposed to be a coin sink, but we have an interesting thing happening where the prices of everything else and even some of the pack items have gone down, yet gold prices remain really high. Constant/overlapping pack sales do pump in a lot of excess but it also is generating coins. I'm guessing that the rate coins are entering the economy can't be hoped to be offset by just normal in-game means alone. So, either a new system has to come in or it has to be drained manually. Not sure how keen PWE would be though on manually manipulating the economy in this way...

I mentioned it in another thread but it applies here as well where we have this "herding cats" problem. It was something that was done way back when were people dug their heels in when gold started jumping to that first "unbearable" point of 400-500k. My memories fuzzy, but I don't think it last very long.

A perplexing and annoying problem indeed.

Anny (September) ALWAYZ drives this above the AH cap.

PWI need to be in control after this has finished to drag it back down.

Last note it will drop after a month or two finally ending back in AH. then our anni comes round again. "Really"

    Thanks.

The huge backlog of gold bids on TT is due to the extended duration spend promo and the constant anniversary sales. Prior to the anniversary, gold was moving to drop under max bid price. The number of bids was in the hundreds and they were going through without even getting close to the 3 day time limit.

Once the spend promo ends, the huge backlog of bids will go away. It's annoying to not be able to buy gold during a spend promo, I know. I was hoping to get an Ocean Orb on an alt, but fate was cruel. Due to a number of failed bids, I ended up 40 silver short on the last day of the promo. -.-

Yeah, except the problem with your idea is that it won't make PWE any money, so no dice..

I have considered buying a heap of gold and selling it in the AH for less than 4mil. I'd sell it amazingly quick and someone would resell it higher though. Little point there

    No.

People have tried to control the free market over and over throughout history, and it's always ended up failing. You want to remove the AH cap but then have the GM's put the cap back in? We'll just end up with the same exact problem.

The best solution is just to let the market decide what the price of gold should be naturally.

I buy around 300 gold a week though AH on TT server. Just place your bid and wait 3 days. If the gold is over 2.5k dont bid come back in a few hours and check then. 2.3k and under means you will almost ALWAYS get your bid.

Reason its 2.5k and over atm is simply coz of the GsT sale. It will happen when an Orb sale becomes active too. When there is nothing of great value for sale the AH will have around 1.6k-2k in bids. Making it easy to buy gold. Quit your QQ'ing gold @ 4m though auction house = 100% chance for profits at no risk of a loss.

Bring the prices down allowing them to fluctuate you will run the risk of over paying due to the unpredictable nature of our coke snorting marketing team. I dont mind taking the risk for larger profits. But i really do enjoy the near impossibility of losing coin on an investment

Thank you @spaz95 , your experiences are motivating me to start merchanting again and buy gold from the ah.
