Celestone fragments?

I've been accumulating celestone fragments, and told to take them to a gem merchant. Problem is, every gem merchant I have been to only takes the 3 heaven, earth, and human stones, but not fragments. Further research shows that I'm supposed to get a quest, yet I'm not offered any quests either. Is this level specific, or what's going on?

If I remember right the quest got removed quite a while ago...

that's what I found too, the gem merchant used to take I think 25 for a mirage..but that's been removed

so what do we do with them now? just sell them to a npc?

Yes they are a useless item. You can toss them on the floor too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
