Why is it, if you combine 3 x Warsong belts, the item becomes untradeable? Can't that be stopped?

By combining the 3 you make them untradable. That recipe is used for untradable Warsong Belts, however it also works with tradable ones. If your Warsong belt is TRADABLE, don't use that recipe, instead, you still need 3 TRADABLE, but decompose 2 of them to make 12 of this item: http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/36908 (Each belt at T1 gives you 6, so, like i said earlier, you need to decompose 2 of them for 12).

Once you did that, you need to follow this recipe instead: http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/recipe/5986
Do the same for the next upgrade (T3 requires 36 of those items) and if you really wanna go for the best one (Known as destroyer) you'll need not only 162 Warsong Soul but also 108 stone of the jungle (or vice-versa, depending).

In short: I understand it might be a bit misleading since the recipe accepts tradable belts too on that NPC, but that is the WRONG recipe. When you do something major like this, if you're unsure, always ask or do some research, it'll help you save money.

BTW, I don't think Destroyer is worth it, but i'll leave that to you.

Make certain it is fully repaired before you decompose.

Made it from a warsong badge so it was perfectly repaired

I am willing to bet we are not able to make unbound belts in this version. Maybe someone can prove me wrong, I'd love it, but I dont recall a crafting option at Ginring (NPC to start WS instance) and that is who you would need to speak to to craft the item using those fragments according to PW Database.

You need to decomp it at craftmans, not black or tailor... ginring does have the option.

BOTH options are the same, both are untradeable once u upgrade them. I know, i upgraded it ( no choice since i had the items ready )
