there are 3 main ways you can get coin.
1) have toons on your account that farm the Jolly Jones daily quest. 1 toon per level range per account. level ranges are 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, and 71-80. just the intial quest gives you coin, but doing the other seven for the day, with the bounty order items give you more. the amount earned is based on the level range with higher ranges giving more. it is time consuming, but i stand by when i say it's worth it even if you just do the initial quest on toons that qualify.
2) learn how to merchant. this requires patience, which i dont have so i dont bother with it.
3) you mentioned buying gold with coin, but this third method is paying with cash and selling the gold so of no use to you.
Note: Keep in mind, if you're level 20 on your first toon, you have no way effective way of making enough coin to buy gold. the most coin you can get is from coin drops, or the coin from selling certain drops. most of those drops used to be worth more coin, but in response to the bad botting problems on the Chinese server the prices were nerfed. most quests were nerfed too to give less coin. But even before all those things were nerfed they weren't enough to be able to pay for the current gold prices.
being reminescent, i miss it back when gold was only 100k each, but that was back in 2009, when i first joined the game0 -
Since people like you repeat it 1000x, I repeat it 1000x too: when gold was at 80-140k, there was NOTHING (but MP/HP charms) in boutique which was worth to buy and there was no gold traffic in AH. One person sold ten gold per month, ten people bought 1 gold per month.lilkitsu#4417 said:

That's it (close enough xD). And now they all dream about a past which never existed and claim they all became sooo rich and stronk at this time.
People which charged gold at this time did spend it by their own (for charms). Because the only thing which people could offer the customers were Mirage Celestones and book pages (no one did cube 50+; almost no one did full gv and so on).
Frost was unpopular (on lc server I know only one herc-veno (Serapentia) which did it on a regualr manner (single player mode, barely multiplayer mode), without getting profit at the end.
Word Bosses were alive most of the time. Whole factions tried to kill them for 2h. And gave up quite often.
Lunar was way too hard at this time. No one did know what "Warsong" is (only a few people did even know the NPC on platform in archo). And so on. We did waste our time by farming reputation in FBs, Mold runs in FBs and friendship quests.. We did cube till 50 for chips, becaus there was no other source lol.
The big challenges were the cultivation bosses on world map. But the time when gold was at 80-140k didn't last long anyway. Fashion fiasko, then anniversary. We all know what did happen in the following: the gold markt got activated.0 -
dont forget perfect iron hammers0

Did everyone read OP wrong or something? OP is farming coins in real life and converting them to gold. S/he made a human (child) raised it to level 20 (20 years). After spending so much on the human (child) and taking care for it for 20 years, the human (child) has obviously rebelled. The human (child) is not getting a job and not helping farm coins. I would recommend to correct the human (child)'s behaviour, or try to raise another human to level 20 and see if that works out.0

Well, at lvl 20 you have certain advantages and disadvantages.myhero#0905 said:Having a hard time farming coins irl for gold. any tips? I made a human and leveled it to 20 but coin income is getting slow. Can't get a good enough daily quest to sustain vip status.
First of all, I think you should work on your Education lvl, if you have enough exp on that already then you need to focus on your Job avatar cards. You need to do a weekly quest to get exp on this, usually it's 5 times per week but if you're dedicated enough it might be 6 or even 7!!
These 2 things will probably last until you're lvl 30 for them to be max. At that point it's pretty simple to get coins usually.
Talk to the employer NPC, he has a quest, if you choose the correct answers to the questions he asks then he will give you some coin.
You can take another approach at this though, if you don't want to lvl your job avatar cards and your education then you can just do the other quest. It's pretty simple but doesn't give much coin. Speak to the Chinese Store Clerk NPC and buy a tin can from him then go to one of the major cities and meditate, every so often you'll get some coin but it's barely enough for the repairs.
Hope this helps ^^
