Sage or demon barb?

Demon. Demon. Demon. Demon. Demon. Nothing else.

A Barbarian has to be demon. Sage barbs are alts to buff your mains (on second account).

If you are in a squad with equal geard characters, your demon barb will even tank every boss (just not last one in UP) in human form. And won't lose aggro. Because the demon barb will deal most damage in squad.
Demon barbs can tank everything in pve, like sage barbs. Just better.

You will be obliterated if your spirit and gear is low, being sage or demon will not change that. Though it's very interesting how back in the day so many people used to say sage is superior in every way and it was only myself and Joe and a few others that actually preached the superiority of Pure Str Demon barb...When it comes to damage and CC anyway. And now you see way more demon barbs and Anti Demon barbs rerolling from sage lol.

My thoughts go like this, if you want to be damage just go Demon as it's superior to sage as far as maximizing damage and CC is concerned. If you want to be a tank(Cata or Vit Barb), go sage as you can maximize your defenses especially once you reach end game with your gear and spirit mostly capped.

If you plan on being a hybrid, then it depends what you want to do....Go sage if you want to at least have a slight increase in surivivability in PvP and PvE, go Demon if you just want extra CC and damage while reaping the benefits of being hybrid.As far as end game is concerned once your gear is maxed, unless your a cata/vit barb or like tank builds, there really isn't much reason to go sage especially if you plan on being a pure STR barb, demon out classes it in nearly every way.Besides by that point your defense and spirit will be high enough that the increase in tankyness from sage really doesn't mean much.

Or you can just play something that suits your play style, barb is one of the top tier classes in the game that really isn't 'gimped' by choosing either path as you will be able to stomp any class 1v1 and PvE content providing you have the gear and skill to back it up.

To max spirit, months(because limited dailies for raising vitae/sky lvl) because Rebirth x2 + farming Neuma and C card packs for soulprime and lifeprime cards takes a while too, they are the 2 card types to raise spirit. Choose based on skill effects - not what other people tell you. You may not enjoy sage while someone else does, vice versa with demon.
