Identity Stone Question

So I need some clarification with the identity stone. I no longer play one of my toons and I would like to take its name. So if I buy 2 stones, change the old toon's name, and then use it on my main, am I going to be able to use the old toon's name? The NPC says you can't get your original name back if you change it. Soo.... Anyone know? .-.

    You have to delete the character if you want the name for another toon. Using an identity stone wont do, as earlier names still sticks to the toon.​​

    Nope, the name will still appear as taken. Probably because if someone were to take someone else's old name they could really **** up that person's in game reputation

    Maybe it's also done to avoid database errors. The old name remains on gear and such.

    But yeah, once you use an Identity Stone on a character. The old name is gone forever.    ​​
