That's why I always instantly trash the daily countdown thing when I log on haha.​​

I don't understand how your technician can take 1 more hour then expected to reboot the servers, and still not be fired 5 years ago. If i pull this off with my customers, i would have been lynched 100 times over already.

could be minor back office updates and hardware updates / changes.​​
Could be they are so challenged to do anything in a timely and proper fashion......

I like when people talk without having any clue of what things are.
Shuting down servers to do a maintance is not like you shut down your TV. With the servers is more than pressing a button on a remote controler.
sylenthunder already explained how its done on other thread. Ask him , maybe he will be nice to repeat that again.

The fact that they are taking longer, has nothing to do on how a reboot is done. I know exactly how a server rack is rebooted, takes me 30 minutes alone just to power down everything correctly.

The fact is, they say it will take "about" 3 hours, and every single time it's 5 hours. That's a 2 hour difference in expectation and that is what pisses people off.

If they say it will take 5 hours, then people will come back after 5 hours, and see that the servers are up and running, aka no complaining.

On a side note the servers are coming online
