Holiday Sales - Looking to buy large gaming monitor

Options
With the holiday season around the corner(big electronic sales), I'm really looking to buy a larger screen to play my games off of my PC. Most of the ones I'm seeing are 60Hz smart LED Tv's but I've been warned that I also need to look for response time when it comes to using an HDMI port, etc. Somewhere along the lines of 6ms->2ms is best?
Do you use a TV to extend your PC? Is it a monitor or a TV? Can anyone recommend one that they use?
How about those new 4K models?????

Here is my goal(I've been saving up for it).
I'm building a man cave which will have two mounted TVs (minimum 40 inch) next to each other. One for gaming and the other for watching TV/Netflix, etc.
I'm going to buy an HDMI box that will source both TVs from my home theatre system.

For gaming purposes, obviously the lower the response time the better.
To be honest, you should also look for a screen > 60hz. Look into refresh rates and what it does for you, I don't feel like getting too technical on it.
Just know that your GPU must also support the setup you want.

    Probably @sylenthunder can enlighten more
