Hidden Orchid Treasure packs

I wonder why I get Skyplume Pearls in these packs, which I could exchange for a DoD or a DoT once I get 500 Skyplume Pearls. Earlier this afternoon I exchange 500 Pearls for 1x DoD.
But, at 8:15 pm (Dutch time) I still had 433 Skyplume Pearls in my inventory when, while I was opening another 100-pack of said Hidden Orchid Treasure packs, they suddenly disappeared. After all packs were opened I only had 100 Skyplume Pearls in my inventory. I relogged my account, to refresh my game, and then these 100 Pearls were gone as well.
At 9:00 pm (Dutch time) a system message appeared that these Skyplume Pearls will disappear from anyone's inventory.

So I didn't get my DoD for these 533 Skyplume Pearls I should have had in my inventory. And my question then is, why do we get these Skyplume Pearls when opening packs, since they disappear immediately.

Any GM-advice would be appreciated and preferably the compensation of a DoD for my 533 lost Pearls.

P.S.
Of course I will not buy these Hidden Orchid Treasure packs anymore.

Where did you go to exchange the Skyplume Pearls for DoD? I went to the Coordinates but the NPC is not there. Sorry if I'm a bit off-topic.

^ this. they probably didnt bother removing those items from the packs or renewing the dates which suggests you were not meant to get those, submitting any tickets for lost pearls probably wo'nt do anything for you

Did you notice the expiration dates of those things? If you got a DoD from them that means you scammed PWI. Not the other way around.

Ok heres the thing.
They ONLY vanish when you do specific things in the game. If you trade with a player (maybe Npc) They will vanish, if you sort your invo they will vanish (maybe bank sort too) if you relog/dc they will vanish.

The system message is a straight up lie when it says "they can disappear at any time". They wont randomly vanish. Its as simple as you doing a particular action for them to vanish. You dont do thoes actions you can trade your 500 for a DoD or DoT.

Since it is an expired item that is a "bug" of sorts they wont help you out if they vanish. But you wont be punished if you dont glitch them out of your bag and you use them.

I dont like that they lied to us but at least if you learn how the vanishing bug works you can get free DoD/DoT.

The only real bad thing about this is gold is now 5.5mill... Lordie cash shoppers must be happy

While this is generally true (all of the above WILL make them disappear), I have had one stack of them (100) go poof on me when I went afk for about 30 minutes. It's only happened once, so I can't make any claims about when or how often it happens, but it does happen.

* Actually on the bright side if a bank ever did accidentally drop millions into our bank account by mistake even though we are not legally allowed to touch that money we are entitled to any interest that money accrues while it is in our account.

And I'll add, the expiration date right on the skyplume pearls themselves say something like August 2014. And even if they say August 2015, we are still past that date too.

One wonders how dumb people come here acting like they are hot stuff.

Using your example, if you were to contact bank, they would fix it. If you were to contact PWE support, they would say to use them if you can. Its a gift as PWE does not expect payment for using said pearls beyond the payment we put for getting packs they were part of.

Ps. Only reason we see the announcement is to avoid being QQd for the items going missing.

All I know is I am thankful people like these packs. With my pack luck, my only luck is selling them. Thanks to people buying these things like crack bags, in the past 3 days, I've made enough to fully 4x JoSD all my armor and helm with 3 JoSDs (just needs one more socket to be 4x) and my matchless wings which once I upgrade will get JoSDs as well.

So getting something that is unintentional from PWI is a gift? LOL! Why would PWI offer a DoD from charge reward then offer another from an expired item in a pack?

The items go missing because they are not supposed to be included in the pack in the 1st place. They are expired. LAWL!!!

Oh and yeah, the bank will fix the issue however there are those who think that the money erroneously deposited into their account is a gift too.

I know those items were expired and not intended for use. I NPC's the 4000 I received from packs because I'm not a cheat.

Gift is the best explanation what there is for skyplume pearls currently. If you are intent on using stupid example regarding money on ones bank account, lets modify it to as close to situation as possible. PWE gave you the item, doesnt want it returned and likely encourages to use it(havent bothered writing ticket to test this). So somebody puts randomly money on your account, doesnt want it back and encourages you to use it, how is that against any laws? Sure, there are some taxes regarding gifts in certain places but thats beyond the point.

Ps. You are free to do what you want with your ****, sounds just silly as there is no "cheating" anybody involved.

The Skyplume Pearls are an expired item. Because they are they can and will disappear for any reason at anytime.

Due to the Skyplume Pearls being expired we will not be able to recover any that have disappeared.

No I am sorry because they are expired they are not meant to be redeemed. While some have been able to do so prior to them disappearing, we will not be providing any items.
