Hello guys i got some Great news for all of you. theirs a way you can Run Perfect world on linux perfectly. what you will need is PlayonLinux installed on your computer.next you will need to install internet expoler 8 on playonlinux. just keep it in mind i will post a youtube video i found on how to get the game working. its not my video but its a step by step process ' also but be very careful you dont want to break your vurtal drive that PLay on linux created so on some software you install on that same drive might break it so just very careful to do so. as far as wine versions to use to run perfect world is wine version 1.7.33 or 1.7.8 hers the link on how to install it.

PWI Install Guide:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3vbsA15iOc

Note: I Know its shows in the video saying its sirens of War expestion. But how ever this setup still works Regardless.

also another thing that will also help with the game run smoother if it works for you.

open up ternmal and type in regedit.

the thing you will go to is HKEY_CURRENT_USER>software>wine
and click on the wine folder their and make a new key and name it Direct3D
and the regstry is down below so just enter them in the Direct3D folder and see if that helps as well.

DirectDrawRenderer "opengl"
Nonpower2Mode "repack"
OffscreenRenderingMode "fbo"
PixelShaderMode "enabled"
RenderTargetLockMode "auto

Have fun victory

I am using Linux Mint 17.1. You do not need to install any version of Internet Explorer to ger PWI to function properly. At the moment I have Playonlinux setup to use my system's wine, which is currently at 1.7.33.

    1) Get the lastest version of Playonlinux, which is at 4.2.5.

    https://www.playonlinux.com/en/download.html

    2) Download the Arc downloader

    http://www.arcgames.com/download?lang=en&game=pwi

    3) Click on the Install button then choose "Install a non-listed program". Choose the "Install a program in a new virtual drive" option and click Next. Choose any name, such as PWI.

    4) Depending on your current version of wine you might need to update to 1.7.33. This varies. If you are using a Ubuntu-based system you can use the Ubunu wine PPA.

    https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

    5) Choose the 32-bit installation and pick the Arc downloader executable. The rest is just like Windows.

If you need help with anything, just ask. Have fun.

Oh, Metalogue, yes, it is possible to get Meridian to work under *nix. Just send me a message and I will explain how.

Can't you press the meridian shortcut button on the bottom "cultivation" menu?

    If that doesn't work type "d_showdialog Win_Meridians"
    in the debug console.

the Reason i think the Guy said to install internet Expoler is because so that the skill icons will be their because if not the Skill's are going to be Question marks on your skills bars and all your skills unless you dont mind having it that wayb:chuckle

The skill icons have not been questions marks in ages. It does not mean that a future update will not cause any more complications, but even the Ecplise update went surprising well.

Again, just message me about the Meridian.

    Email: epictweaknet at gmail.com
    AIM/Yahoo messengers: Sapient2003

The reaons are various. You are not using the methods to cheat, just to fix a poorly programmed game and might violate the ToS or whatever.

Edit: It is just changing a poorly thought out implemented XML file using an attribute that should not be used.

Why don't you just hit this button?

The alternative debug command you have to type in the debug command console

Since I do not have access to any Windows-based systems, I asked someone that does. Using Windows 8.1 64-bit that Meridian button does not work for him. He can only access Meridain using the bag sillotette for it.

This just goes with the poorly implemented funcationality I mentioned earlier. XML is a simple standard. If you fail at that you should not even attempt to use it. Just saying... Having to resort to to using a debugging mode to be able to use a common function just indicats further that something is wrong. Debugging is just that, to pinpoint problems so you can fix them in the final product.

Thanks you both, the bag icon works for me.

One more question , pwi crashes for me when I change the window size or when I move the window, it gives the standard pwi error window.
is there a workaround or fix for this?

What is the "standard" PWI error message you get?

In window-ed mode, the most common problem you would have is PWI's audio not working with wine and pusleaudio correctly when switched between different windows. Depending on the serverity, just use:

    sudo service pulseaudio restart
    pulseaudio -k

It's the one with the traffic light http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l117/hiketsu_megumi/Errors/Error1.jpg
The sound works good for me, everything seems to work until I change/move the pwi window.
    That results in insta crash
