What feature would you most likely to see on Vanilla?

Personally, I'd like it if we add more restrictions by search. Including being able to search by user, various dates/times, whether or not said user created the discussion or merely said something in it, etc. Basically, I want more advanced search options.

I second that.
We need the ability to search by specific user or thread (discussion?) title or even date/time. I'd also love to see the ability to search under specific sub-categories eg. I want to search topics from PWI only.

Right now it's really hard to find things. If I search something it pops up everything from all other categories too. Finding things you need is hard next to impossible unless you feel like going through 10+ or even 20+ pages.

I would like to see better separation for posts/parts of forums. As is it isn't very visually pleasing.

The forums are too bland. Nothing to distinguish what the forums are really for (ie, you know, like for GAMES)
The quote thign where it doesnt go to the comment box, it just makes the page jump a little. Thats the only thing that indicates that you clicked quote. You have to scroll down and see it.
The akward top section with links the other sections. Big blocky things that look way out of place.
The stupid amount of pictures (i know you cna change your user settings, and I have a stupid signature). Its a game , kids play it, its not hard for someone to toss up some pornography pictures, or to shame others by using their real pictures. Are there mods any more? Like actual mods that can move, delete and edit threads and posts?

It is easy to see that on this harshlands section that activity is down. These forums are ugly as hell, and boring to look at.

I mean, you're responding to a thread created by a moderator. So yes, I exist. ATM we have more limited tools than before but we can still delete stuff. ATM, anything we do is much more permanent than before so we're holding back until all our tools are re-enabled.

I would like to see a page 2, 3 etc at bottom of page >.> I mean seriously, if i'm reading a thread, I will always be at bottom of page when I finish reading the comments, it's annoying having to scroll up to top again to go to next page.
Also I miss to see the newest posts... Now, as far I can figure this forum out, I have to enter each category to see if there any new posts. Also the line between a users post and his signature needs to be more clearly. Sometimes I cannot see very well when the signature starts and the comments ends.

Follow these steps to get new posts from our page.

1. Go to http://perfectworld.vanillaforums.com/categories
2. Hover you mouse next to the name of one of the categories. You should see a little gear next to it.
3. Click the gear next to a category you want to hide and select hide. It should disappear from view.
4. Do this for the remaining categories you want to hide. Leave only PWI. (Or if you play others, you can obviously leave those)
5. Go to this url: http://perfectworld.vanillaforums.com/categories/?ShowAllCategories=true

Now all your categories should reappear, but should remain filtered out from the "Recent Discussions" when you click discussions. You can click the gear to unhide them from the filter at anytime.

On old forums when you hovered the cursor over a thread (before clicking on it) a tooltip showed the beginning of the first post. Imo, that saves a lot of time avoiding idiotic threads with misleading titles. I miss that feature.

Would be nice to identify moderators more quickly, like a red or green name. The way it is they blend in with others. Though this could make them sneaky.

How about an option to read the forum without pictures, black background and green- or amber colored text (Courier-New should be fine) so it reminds me of the old terminals I used to work with. Also would like to see a button which will send a message to my wife to fetch me a drink... if possible

~I'd like to be able to post with my character's name. Not this one. Maybe having the option to choose among our characters/toons' names?
Not that I mind this name much, but I'm not 26 anymore. XD and I was used to my other nickname on the forums. Plus I lost my posts. Not that they were that many though...

~If it's possible could we have bigger avatars or something?
Somehow it feels like the avatars are too small and sigs can be too big. Not that I mind the big signatures, I'm cool with that. But the avatars look so small!

Though the last ones aren't features, so maybe they don't belong here? I'm slightly confused.

I second the better search functions. It is literally impossible to tell which game the threads are for when searching, and therefor like finding a needle in a haystack. We will see many repeat posts due to inability of users to locate old threads.

Last but not least, Sweetiebot. I think she was the only virtual entity I actively stalked, posts wise. Some replies to certain things were pure gold!

I knew there were "mods" but I remember reading that at some point that mods didnt know when or if they would get their permissions back.

Ah, fair enough. My bad. We just didn't know when. There was always the plan to integrate us. Most of the griping is just because it's been so long since we had a CM, that we weren't holding our breath on it happening soon. I'm glad that it did.

I get the strange feeling that you're really concerned about something but I can't quite put my finger on it....

Sour lemons? Sweet pies? Dancing robots? ... Dunno what any of those have to do with the forums, though!

My main concerns have already been mentioned. I really just want to have the minimum functionality we used to have. That and the removal of certain... extremely abusable things (a few of you know what I mean).

Color, not having every thread I open to read start me below the original post or more often at the bottom of the LAST page regardless of if I clicked the first or not.

However, I'm literally only now able to post anything at all which is an improvement. I had been randomly logging my out and the telling me I didn't have permission to do anything when I was logged in.

Also, I have barely even touched Forsaken World, and not in years. I have also been playing pwi since 2006 and it was the first game of theirs I had played so it confuses me that it lists me as a Forsaken World User, and I'm more surprised it still lists comments I made on Neverwinter a loooong time ago as I haven't touched that game since.

If you're looking for more color, I highly recommend Asterelle's mod. It includes numerous fixes to this place by Asterelle and NRGLG. These two have done tremendous work to get these places looking much better. Their work has been so, so valuable in getting this place spruced up in the meantime. It includes font color pickers, lots of smileys, more colorful and visible links, better layout, etc. Seriously, they've done a lot. In addition, there is an Eclipse theme that I collaborated with NRGLG to design. It just makes the forums a bit prettier.

I really miss being able to go by character name. My username is ridiculous and I don't recognize most other posters anymore which is sad.

I agree with the person that stated that page numbers should be listed at the bottom. Why do we have to scroll all the way back up to go to the next page?? That is poor planning.

I really, really hate that if I'm reading a topic and then decide to post, after signing in it does not redirect me back to the page I was on but leaves me at some main page so that I have to find my way back.

And, of course, appearance... but I'm hoping they will update things a little at some point, considering all of the complaints.

Edit: Also, how did some people get their old post counts back? My measly 3 makes me sad.
