I think it will take time to get use to the new forum set up and working out how to do colour text.
Yeah, I'll probably be doing most of my stuff with html code now.

I wonder when it will finally add my old post count.....

I don't believe the end result is going to allow HTML code, but don't quote me on that.

I think we're going to be going back to BBCode for everything, as soon as the majority of important features are back up and running.

Pretty sure that we also won't have post counts brought back for people who were on non-default avatars. Seeing as our customization treated them as entirely separate accounts and... well... this forum doesn't give us any way to access those since it's all linked to the default Arc account we have.

Guess we'll still be seeing people with dark text colors in here. Thought there could be more control about it in here.

I don't even care about the post count, I just want to know if we'll be able to edit old posts in the (preferably near) future or not. If not, the several guides will have to be re-made if we want them updated (especially for the links). fox-9.gif

Sorry, I might seem like I constantly bring it up, but since I've written a number of guides myself I can say that it's time consuming up to a degree and it's takes a little effort to write everything, collect your sources and, of course, keeping said guides up to date. Seeing your work messed up is irksome. I feel even worse for the person who did the Useful Venomancer Links... that thread is pretty much useless now since the majority of links aren't functional anymore.

Maybe I'll fix stuff up in the future, but for now I have more important things to take care of. fox-27.gif Not playing much right now, but I probably come back when we get the content update (I hope it doesn't happen when I'm on vacation lol).

Doubt it because of the whole separate account thing... but at the same time if mods have tools that are anything similar to what we had on vB, you can just poke one of us and we'd be able to change it so your "new" account is considered the one that made the topic and gets the ability to edit it. I've done that plenty of times in the past, but it'll depend on the tools we get here. As a worst case scenario, though, at least quoting is a bit more functional here since nested quotes don't have to be done manually. So you could likely quote your first post, then copy everything over to a new topic and have a mod replace it that way.

That would be useful, but let's see when and what tools you get. Does it only work for the first post though? Because I'm not sure how the whole character limit thing works and such. Anyway, for now you're a mortal just like the rest of us >:D

I could do it for any post I wished on vB as it wasn't a direct tool, per se, so much as manipulation of different tools to do a thing we wanted. In fact, because of how limited our tools actually were, a majority of the bigger things we did (manually unmerging a certain thread, removing polls, and so on) came as a result of manipulating our tools for more than the obvious. So yeah, it'll depend on what we're given here and how we can make it work. Depending on what Vanilla allows it may range from "incredibly easy" to "scrap the old thread and sticky a new copy/pasted one".

And I'm no mortal. I have the power of fluff on my side!

UGH, the old tools were very limited. Like when we "made someone the owner of a thread," what we would actually do is look at the OP of the thread. Find a post by you that was even older than that. And then move that post into the thread. Since the forum automatically sorted all posts by date, this old post became first post. Then we copypastaed the original op into this new OP. And finally, we deleted the actual first post so as not to have two duplicates. That wasn't fun. Anyway, atm we got some of our old tools back but jury is still out on the rest of them.

    o.o

Venus you really did it the hard way didn't you? All you had to do was copy a post from the person you wanted to change it to, then merge it into the OP you wanted and delete the extras from the copied post. Date gets dealt with automatically and you choose who the merged post belonged to. XD

JXvlt0E.gifOhh.....Well, however we end up having to do things I hope it ends up much easier now than in the past. The workarounds we had to come up with were annoying.

    *patpat*

I hope so too but we'll have to wait and see. As long as what we get here isn't too counter-intuitive or restricted it'll be okay. At the very least, hopefully it's something we can work around like we could before.

I don't know if they consciously fixed them. They had told us even before I resigned as a mod on PWI that the avatars were something they couldn't fix. It's possible that it was merely a side effect of the preparations for the data migration process...
