Over 8H East Coast Down

Wow, got DC'd around 5:30PM yesterday (EU time, 8AM PST). All servers on EAST coast down.
Went to college, came back, had diner, slept, waking up now at 10AM (1AM PST). Tried logging in, all EAST still down. Ouch. What happened? Server trays catch on fire? Ouch! I hope mass compensation, that is a lot of levleing time missed.

So, on a positive note. What do you do / play when your primary game goes down? Have a fall back game or activity? I usually fall back on Bioshock or Everquest 2.

Hope PWE get's the fire put out and starts welding the pieces back together and training new hampsters to turn the wheel. Got some leveling to do. b:surrender

    the servers are having problems. I wonder with the new arc protection program there advertising is causing problems.

    Idk if its even remotely connected, but, its always the same when they are about to launch an expansion...b:surrender weeks and weeks of huge lag and DCs and server meltdown.
    Allow me to impress upon you the severe mistake you have made...

    servers aren't down for everyone, ive been logged on with no issues and i know 2 people who live a few hours away who cant get on at all. As that other guy said, servers aren't broke, something else is.

    If only some people can log in and others can't, that is the definition of broke. Servers are broke.
    Just because one man or a few are playing, doesn't mean it is not broke. That is why they are apparently working on a "fix", broke things do not get "fixes".

    This particular kind of broke is called server side problem. Hence, servers broke.

    It is like maintenance. Servers are not really "down", they are being maintenanced and you are blocked when they cut off client communication. So technically, servers are never really "DOWN".
    Just blocked, so unless there is faulty code and triggering certain east code players as "down", and allowing others in, they are broke.

    The other guy simply implied "I am playing, so therefore there is no problem". Kind of mentality that I like because these are the fools "I see no sharks so der be no sharks" even though people without legs and arms standing on the shore saying "there are sharks in the ocean". LOlz.
    Any ways subject closed, I win, you lose, it feels sad, but all in all we are all losers since your games broke at the moment and I would normally be there to buy things from your cat shop XD. Another title is getting my love sweet love the last two days :)

    Wouldn't it be more of a network issue than a server one though? i would imagine if the server was actually broken then no one would be on and i can attest, the servers are working fine for me.

    Yes, you are right, it is the connection to the server which is the problem, I was logged on all day yesterday even though forum threads were saying servers were down, it was only when I tried switching chars that I dc'd and couldn't log back on.

    Hm, interesting. I've been swapping between characters all day. But alas, i know nothing really about servers. Couldn't even set up a private server for me and a friend on left for dead b:laugh well i could get on the server so i know it worked but networking seems to be rather complicated b:surrender

    I imagine it's most likely an issue with the login servers, and may be intermittent.
