Sizzer - Raging Tide

Greetings Everyone,

I don't know if you guys have noticed or not after the recent launch of Sirens of War, chat has started to glitch frequent this bug didn't used to exists before but after the launch of Sirens it is happening. When i'm chatting with a friend of mine and wrote to him for e.g Meet me at south archo in 2 minutes the chat suddenly pops-up in Normal chat window.

To send a pm we use /Sizzer in game somehow the ---> / disappears frequently so while chatting the chat pops-up in Normal Window instead of that particular person whom i sending my msg. This has been troubling a lot because sometimes some very personal chats pops-up in the normal window & other players can see it which is really embarrassing. I'm pretty much sure others are also having this issue.

Can confirm this happens and is not limited to private messages either.
It has also happened to me while using squad (!!) chat where the !! would randomly disappear.

It tends to happen if you press enter too fast after sending the message (doubletap on enter) and write another message right after it, for whatever reason the / or !! gets removed.

Another way i've seen it occur a lot is when you teleport out of an instance; say you go to the portal of heaven/hell to teleport out and right after it send a chat message, it happens sometimes then too.

This has been happening to me a lot lately, too. I can't pinpoint one specific thing that is causing it to occur... the accidental double tap of enter might be a culprit but I don't do that all that often. And while it did happen to me once when I teleported, it doesn't all of the time. So the problem with fixing this sort of problem is knowing what is causing the problem....

This happens everytime when i'm trying to type something on chat no matter what chat is it: faction, private, squad... after teleporting even from city to city all special marks responsible for specifically chat disappear, so next thing on chat is usually showing on normal chat...

I have had this happen after teleporting or timing out of a dungeon. I look down at the "W" for whisper and see that it's now an "N" for normal (good lord, I should post screenies at some point).

It is annoying, especially because I type fast, and seems to also happen after teleportation and clicking into the space instead of hitting "enter." b:surrender

This is something that I have happen often to me too. It is something seems to occur mainly when I clear my chat with the trash can icon. It will automatically switch to normal chat.

Tried to keep track yesterday and noticed it happened at least 99% of the time when I teleported. Not just into/out of instances either, even when I teleported Arrowhead > Silver Pool my chat bar went from faction to normal.

It's a Confirmed bugg, i'm 100% sure it came with Sirens of War.

here's what I'm seeing when I investigate this issue. I tried whispering my friend, Stuart. I typed:
/stuart hi there

Then with my primary character, I changed zones (entered dungeons, morai, etc) and noticed that the chat returns to the "N" tag for normal chat. However, the /stuart tag was there. When I pressed Enter to continue the chat, it was still a whisper to Stuart. Can you confirm that this is what you're seeing? Because I'm not seeing any other effects.
In this case, it seems to me that you're not being rerouted to another person if you're continuing to chat.

the issue isn't being rerouted to another person, it's being redirected to common chat while whispering someone. What then happens is that a message meant for one particular person's eyes only, gets broadcasted to everyone in your vicinity. Which can lead to some awkwardness.

I can also confirm it happening multiple times with squad or guild chat ending up in common chat because of the ! doing the disappearing act just like the / has been doing for whispers. It's even done the random switching back to common chat while I've been chatting while browsing the AH. Nothing like finding a very underpriced skill book, then accidentally telling everybody in South Arch what I've found and having it bought out from under me. b:surrender

Yikes, I've noticed this too recently, since my hiatus in december. I never had the issue before, but now it's become a pretty annoying problem.

In my case, while the / disappears, the name of the person remains. For example:

/Fondlemore Hey my facebook is DatOneDude OrSomething, don't tell anyone.

And then everyone in the general area of my character sees:

Fondlemore Hey my facebook is DatOneDude OrSomething, don't tell anyone.

I have only noticed this after teleporting.
I notice this more frequently using Cube to teleport.
It has happened to me most frequently using whispers, however it has occurred once in faction chat.
EDIT: Ah, and I usually use the enter key to make the chatbox active.

Geno, chat only reverts back if you hit "enter" to type (start a new thought), instead of clicking in to do the same thing.

Like this:
/Klarati hey girl! How are you today?
This would show up properly and send to her after a teleport if, and only if, you hit "enter" instead of clicking in (with your mouse) to type.
Otherwise it'd be:
/Klarati hey girl! How are you today?
which is in normal chat and seen by everyone. b:sad

I pretty exclusively use the enter key when chatting and still have the issue on multiple occasions.

I haven't noticed it as much, but since I bounce back and forth, I've noticed it more with clicking in. *shrug*

This is an interesting little bug, since you don't notice it until you do it, then you forget and do it again the next day.

Wonder what caused it...bad line in the code?

Sowwie for the NECRO ! But can we hope that it will be fixed anytime soon? It's really annoying when others are able to see your private chat suddenly specially when you are talking about a sensitive issue.
