New Player Looking To Buy A Mount

Looking to buy a mount from the Auctioneer and have a few questions. 1, I heard it was cheaper than the Boutique. Is this true? 2, Do I have to bid or can I strait out buy? 3, it does not give you a preview of what the mount looks like in the auction house. Where can I go to get a preview of mounts that are available at the Auctioneer and not the boutique. Thanks guys.

1. Getting it from the Auction House is cheaper sometimes since other players are selling it. Sometimes it is a higher price, sometimes it is lower. It depends on the mount. I suggest doing a bit of math and figuring it out for yourself how much it would cost. So if it 1mil in coins=1gold on your server, you can figure what is over-priced and what isn't and decide from there. Also consider some mounts are spurred and some aren't. Spurred ones will cost more then those that arent, and ones bought from the boutique are not spurred. You would have to spur them yourself.

2. You can both straight out buy or bid, it just depends on the seller. Some sellers would rather just put up one straight price and you have only the option to buy it. Others are up for bids. You might get it cheaper bidding, but anyone can bid higher than you at any time so you take the risk on not getting it by bidding.

3. You can't preview mounts at all anyway. I suggest just looking up what they look like on the internet, or just stand around in archosaur for a bit, most of them run by at some point and you can get an idea of what they look like.

1.It is indeed cheaper to buy a mount from the AH.

2. Sometimes (when the price difference between bidding and buying is high) it is better to bid on a mount rather then buy it.
For example Bidding would be 2 mil and Buying 4 mil....then u would rather bid (i guess xD ) and wait and hope (if u were outbidded u get a mail with your coin,u will be able to bid again after that if there is still time).Ofc if u have enough money and dont wanna wait then you can just buy it for 4 mil.

The principal to buying a mount applies to everything else you might wish to buy. If you're in the right place at the right time, someone who wants to offload an item quickly will undercut others. This can apply to mounts and flyers, gears, weapons, molds etc. You need to constantly check the auction house and catshops and compare prices for a while.

For example, I looked and looked and bought a veno flyer called Israfael (spelling?) for only 2mill and it was already spurred to 3m/s. Its an older flyer and likely someone wanted to upgrade to a flashy new one but 2mill is well under what its worth.

If you want something new, you will pay top dollar. If you like something old theres a chance you'll find one cheap if you are patient.

I wouldn't say that, because some people charge more for a mount, say if it is colored a certain color, and you would be better just buying it from the boutique. I didn't want to say always cheaper, because I don't want the new player getting swindled out of his money thinking you can buy from the auction house without checking the regular price from the boutique first.

Well looking at the prices of the mounts in the AH and how much gold u would be paying for them i would say it is cheaper to buy them from the AH.

I really think that only pack mounts are overpriced most of the time (some of those can be dyed for example).

Just a few examples so the OP gets an idea about the difference between AH and the boutique (used the actual gold price of Sanctuary 1.4mil = 1 gold ) :

1.Polaris Snow Cub

Boutique cost: 5 gold (= 7mil atm on Sanctuary )
AH Price: this mount is sold for 1.5 ~ 2 mil in the auction House

2.Windsprint Panther

Boutique cost: 7.5 gold (= 10.5 mil )
AH pricee: this mount is sold for 2~4mil

3.Scarlet ninetails

Boutique cost: 30 gold ( = 42 mil )
AH price: this mount is being sold for 7~9 mil

I don't know your level and I don't know if they are still available, but you can try to get a dreamchaser pack (It's free) that give a mount at level 30 or 35 not sure, but it's free and the mount look nice, it's a blue bear.

Plus the pack give great gears/weaps and more, so depend on your level you should definitely check that.

Some come in eggs form (lthe item look like a egg) others have the ''animal'' on the items.

Example press ''O'', than go to ride and scroll, you will see some are eggs other not, but it's the same thing, once you get it you need to go to a pet manager (can be find in every big city) and select the option ''hatch'', than after press ''P'' to see your pet bag and you can slide the icon in your hotkey to be more fast to call it when you need it.

If you got the free pack I told you about the bear is not a egg if I remember. (you will see a little blue bear face)
