How about letting us trade it in directly for mats?

Example:
3 keys = 1 uc
15 keys = 1 rc
1 key = 2 rep badge
20 keys = 1 basic badge

    How about

    1 key = 1 rap
    2 keys = 100 rep badges
    1 key + 1 rough fur = 1 rank 9 piece
    3 keys + 6 concentrated glue = full rank 9
    8 keys + 15 compound oil + 15 compound threads = GM mode for 10 days
