    better option would be captcha for accounts with 5 posts or less

    captcha for creating threads only (i don't even know if vbulletin has an option to do that) is stupid because bots can still post in regular threads

    Besides captcha, they can implement words filter, so the spammers can't make a post and topic if the post and/or topic title contain certain words.

    wow, bottom of second page in an hour.

    if the admins arent gonna take any action besides intermittently depthing threads, they might as well lock the forums for the time being, and just leave them for official announcements.

    due to all the malicious spam, the forums are doing more harm than good.

    It's better if there's a way to just stop them from posting at all.

    Seems like these spammers don't really know how to bypass the filter because they come from non-English-speaking countries where they got paid very minimally to do heavy spamming. They can only Google translate their spams, and we know, Google translate can only translate formal words.

    It could help. No harm in trying, I suppose.

    What I'd rather see for now is the ignore list being fully functional, and that threads from people on your ignore list are hidden. Perhaps even with ''ignore thread starter'' as a command under Thread Tools.
