Rank 9 3rd Cast Cost to keep refines and shards

Rank 9 2nd cast was free to keep shards and refine, but why is it that 3rd cast cost ?


It cost over 870 chiekun stones to keep the refine + 12 and JoSD shards.

I'd love to hear a response of how a GM will give a solution of how a F2P player or even moderate cash shopper would achieve a full set of this within one year or two.


Will the cost be deleted or kept or reduced?



I kindly ask this thread to not be removed since it is informing the player base that rank 9 3rd cast does cost a bunch of chiekun to keep refines and shards.

    I worked really hard to get cash for r9 2nd recast, and i get it. So now i was really excited and happy with the new content and the new update it was all getting great.

    This just killed my hapiness, my dreams, and my hopes to have r9 3rd cast.

    Why this cost ( witch should be free ,and its actualy ai ridiculus amount) for 3rd cast when the 2nd cast if free? at least put 1000000 chiekung cost for 2nd cast, so players dont get hopes on getting some 3rd cast gear. greedy pwi , flyranger now happy b:sad

    definitely wont cash for 3rd cast then. not paying for that many chienkun lols. what to do with my 500 gold i alrdy ahd rdy..good i didnt buy more rdy to sell.. o_o *** lol..

    It is still a valid option for anyone who does not have +12 with 4 JoSD in the armor.

    Also interesting notes:
    The Refine seems to be cheaper than Quench for Nirvana
    The Shards seem to be cheaper than Quench for Nirvana
    The Sockets seem to be more expensive than Quench for Nirvana

    except those with low refines aint gonna pull out 3-4B for either armor or wep or like 7B total. if they struggle to get R9 with decent refines, 3rd cast is no option to them.

    873 chiens per +12 4 jaded gear = ~3.5k chiens. Don't really know the weapon chien requirements, but I would assume it's the same for refine, sockets, and shards, so around 800 I would assume, which totals to around 4.3k chiens.

    4.3k chiens on sale would be 1935 gold, which is still cheaper than if you bought full r9r. But still, that is a lot of money.

    I actually think it's a good thing :o

    It raises the gear ceiling in a way that isn't solved simply by waiting till next pay check( unless you get a really big pay check)

    R9 was made far too easy to obtain and this created the huge gear gap we have now(which is ironic, as you'd think it'd be the other way around), so I think making R9 3rd cast all that much harder to get(in the sense that you want to keep your JOSD dont you?) is actually healthier for the game.

    Behh.. these costs make a lot more sense in PW-CN where chienkun is always the same cost as a dragon orb but here chienkuns cost around 10 times as much.

    Our R9 2nd cast is like 8 times more expensive as PW-CN so most people would have to get +12 josds first before it begins to make sense. Now those people are being punished hard.

    It seems like the devs in china just don't have a clue about the conditions over here.

    it even takes chiekungs to keep the sockets, witch was 4 by default, so a r9 3rd cast can go 2 sockets, thats sad lol, ofc u can always use another 3105293582935 soket stones to socket them again!

    when I first started craftin r8 recast it would ask me for 85 chienkuns to keep 4 sockets, though as most ppl now know r8 recast is 4 socket by default... >_> if anyone ballsy enough to try :P

    All this refine transfering stuff doesnt even matter to new cash shopping players. Just like how players w/ NV+10-12 were screwed when r9 came out etc... Though the cost even w.o gem transfer is absurd I bet someone will still do it b:chuckle

    plus, lets say, u dont pay to keep sockets. But you are paying to keep 4 gems, but it gets 2 sokets, the cost of those 2 gems go poof? i cant get this really , make it free now!

    lol for once i agree with you. the cost is too high. in my opinion pwi alrdy get way enough from recasting itself. transferring gems shouldnt cost anywhere near as much as it cost to actually refine back. 1/8 of the price probly more fitting, making a full set like 600 gold total to transfer all gems/refine.
