VAT Issue- EU Servers?

Was wondering whether this VAT issue affects the EU servers (French and German) too, seeing as they were set up after the rule change and would have had to be run under the new 'place of supply' rules in any case.

Presumably there will be no change to the amounts received on these servers for EU residents as you were already charging VAT within the price?

Under the new rules you might have to charge VAT on all your USA based players using the EU based French and German servers and buying zen for use there...unless the 'place of enjoyment/place of residence' can be determined to be other than the EU..

Oh wait, the billing system doesn't distinguish at the point of charge as to where you are going to credit the zen...

I would advise everyone from the EU (whether in the Euro or not, makes no difference to VAT rules which apply to the EEA) to send the following to billing:

'I am not happy with the way you have implemented the change in the VAT rules.
Please amend the payment options so that there is a level playing field between all countries on your servers.
This can easily be done via tying the additional bonus zen to the VAT rate applicable in each country so that the player receives additional bonus zen equivalent to the VAT charged.'

Maybe they might then have a rethink and not make our zen 20% more expensive than the USA players...
