Soloing FBs

Has anyone soloed their own FB's?

Stupid question, I know some venos have done it. What level were you when you did it?

I ask because I recently attempted to solo my own FB19. At level 23, I handled the mobs fine, but unfortunately Razorjaw's damage output was slightly higher than what I could heal. For every 10 damage he dealt, I healed back 9, it seemed, so I resigned myself to trying again at level 25 with some better gear. b:surrender

Took forever, though. Three hours to get to Razorjaw, including the meditation times and a couple of shop runs to sell my loot.

If you're using a Hercules you can solo your own FBs (with the exception of FB69 and 99). However, if you are using a free pet such a Glacial Walker you need to be several levels higher than the boss/FB.

Not sure what level difference there has to be between your character and the dungeon as I attempted to solo FB19 for the first time when I was already level 43 and it was very easy.

I'd suggest that you focus on your magic attack and a good weapon. Those two are essential for a strong heal pet. You may also look for some ornaments that give you +magic points. Since your pet will be tanking you can afford having some secondary ornaments (belt, necklace, cape but not rings, keep rings up to your level) to increase your magic attack even if they give you **** defence. Like I mentioned, your pet will be tanking the boss so you will need no defence.

I know this is about soloing but 2+ hours to not make it is a big investment of time. Why not bring one more person in your level range or a couple of levels higher to make it a bit easier?

Or have a second account and bring with your own toon duo boxing. A mystic might work well if you like playing a veno, gives you the rez buff and you can send in mystic pet and lay down a plant and just concentrate on the veno while fighting.

Yes, I have a glacial. Gear is the Sirius set, quest reward ornaments that either give more MP or Magic, and the Perfect Military Magicsword from the level 20 supply stash. Pure Magic build and maxed pet heal. I didn't actually think about having ornaments for their stats and not the defense, though. Good idea.

Yeah, I was taking it slow. I went in expecting not to be able to fight rend, though, so I was actually rather impressed that I could almost do it. I did, however, come out with a **** ton of low level materials and a much stronger grasp on pet control, pulling, and soloing difficult monsters, so I don't really perceive it as a waste.

I actually did have one of my bank characters following me just because I needed a squad to actually do the Call to Duty quest. :D

I did consider duoing it with another veno (we can heal each other's pets, right?) but I really want to do this one on my own, even if I have to wait a few levels.

Good choice Jeigo, experimenting some things on your own to learn your class is something many people neglect.

As for the ornaments, well when it comes to AoE bosses it's a different story but by then you should have better gear anyway (easier to find as well )and be able to take a hit or two, assuming the boss doesn't go crazy and AoE every second like in some situations.
