Safety Lock Having Major Issues Help plz !!

well, Me and My friend Decided to Join The Pk mode and we obviously went into Pk mode and we knew we had to stay for 10 hours Before Switching Back and We were aware of the Consequences.

My friend Told me to Activate The Safety Lock so we Don't Lose any of our items. We Both Put The Safety Lock on For 10 hours and 1 minute.

Now This Morning We got Bored Of Pk Mode and came Back to Normal Mode without any Problems However me and my friend noticed that in safety mode we couldnt trade,drop items,check our mail,buy items from cashshops and many more useful stuff and we realized that The safety mode had wrecked the game for us.

I did A bit of research and i figured out that i had to reset it to 1 minute.

I did so and left my PC on for 10 hours. After the 10 hours the Safety lock had disapeared, however i logged out and came back on and i had encounteered the same problem of the safety lock

so anyone plz have any sugestions as this is wrecking the game for us and were really bored and cant do much.

It takes 3 days for safety lock to switch from 10 hours to 1 minute. relogging resets the safety lock. and thats pretty much it

so basically i have to leave my computer on for 3 days straight without any one touching it and no logging out.

If i click on the safety Lock it says Time Remaining is :9 hours and 45 minutes thats pretty weird

Set it to 1 minute and wait 3 days. You can log in and out as you like, the 3days passes wether you stay logged in or not.

The 10 hour duration you set is after log-in. It starts counting down the moment you are on character selection.

As a future piece of advice, setting it to 45 minutes - 1 hour is best. Simply relog when your time is almost out. This will prevent you having 10 hours of being largely ruined gameplay after you log in, itl be a mere 45-60 minutes then you can trade etc before relogging and going back to pvp.

1. Never set your SL to more than 60 minutes. (if you pvp a lot, 60 mins is good enough, and you relog when your lock is about to pop.) If you don't pvp often but do enjoy it sometimes, 30minutes should be good enough.

2. Set your SL timer to 1 min. Let it be. Don't try changing it back to 1min when it says current setting is 10 hrs 1 min.

3. On the third day of having the 10hr safety lock, it will reset to 1 min.

4. You don't HAVE to wait 10 hrs for your SL to pop. You can play on an alt (on a different account because all the chars on that account will have a 10hr SL now.) or just take a 3 day break from PWi.



This is an account safety feature. The reason why there is a 3 day span to change it back to normal is so hackers can't reset it, relog and steal your stuff in the same day. (Granted this would only work if you have a VERY long SL on it.)

so this probelm happened to me around 2 days ago

but ive been messing around everytime i see 10 hrs instead of 1 minute i immedieatly make it 1 minute so i guess that means i reseted the waiting time

anyways i probably wont be playing on my Assassin but i can play on my archer which is one the same account it wont have the safety lock

but i guess ill just take a break from pwi for 3 days if thats the only soloution b:cryb:cryb:cry

You CAN'T play your archer if he's on the same account as your assassin. o.o Unless you typo'd that, you completely misread my post, lol.

ahh ok i guess i misread it

that sucks then i cant be stuffed starting a new account so i guess ill just have to wait 3 days for my charcter to stay back to normal

so im allowed to do fcc's and bh's normally that wont affect the time rite?

You can play as normal, you just wont be able to sell things or trade etc.

So :

Doing peoples FBs is.. Tricky, they need to set it on free and you need to remind them so you dont get called a drop thief.

TT/other instances : Again, needs to be set on free with you in squad, additionally some TTs require you to have space in your inventory, if you do not, the squad wont be able to open.

Grinding : Go nuts but youd be advised to get a friends and have them pick up all the drops for selling etc, or only pick up the DQ items because they stack to 100 unlike armor / weapon drops.

Buying off NPCS : This works as normal, you can buy NPC pots/repair/white gear as you like. Only issue is NPC pots are a bit sucky compared to crabmeats / herbs

~The only thing that will affect the time is you attempting to change it. Id advise you to try staying logged for the 10 hours, clear your inventory of everything possible and then play as normal til your invent is full. (Assuming you dont DC).

1. Safe Lock off 10 hours after login (you can login, go sleep, and play without SL in morning... but till next DC
2. For set SL back to 1 min you need wait 3 days after changes made. You can login/logout any times during this 3 days. But:
3. If during this 3 days you will try to change SL time again - 3 days reseted and started again. So, after set you SL to 1 min - do not try to set it again.

and ill do my bhs and fcc's normally but with a small setback with no trading and stuff

and after three days will it automatically appear by itself or will i have to click something to manually close it?

Itl be set back to 1 minute or w/e you set it to. Youl be able to check by opneing the SL dialogue and seeing it say "Current setting 1 minute".

If you want to play normally tomorrow, leave the PC on with your account logged in. If you log in tomorrow, you'll have a 10 hour (+1 minute) safety lock again.

Leave it. If you so much as touch the safety lock setting, the 3 day countdown for the change to take effect starts all over.

The Problem is if i leave the PC on after a couple of hours it disconnects and therefore im forced to log out and log back in

when i log back in i see that the 1 minute time had reseted to 1 minute

Not to be a *****, but do people really not read that big ol' dialog with a nicely enumerated list of what you cannot do with safety lock on, before setting it? And then the big ol' dialog with the word "WARNING!" at the top? b:shocked

I hate to say it, but if you're just mindlessly clicking boxes, you ought to have to endure the effects.

Also, if you (like me) dislike Safety Lock for whatever reason (e.g. it doesn't prevent shattering and it is useless in PvE and it sometimes doesn't "work" in PvP from what I've seen), just use Guardian Scrolls.

Scrolls (some of us also call them "dolls" or even more rarely "GAs", since they used to be called "Guardian Angels" and had an icon that looked like a kewpie doll) are useful in that they prevent EXP loss when you die to a mob and you can PvP without any real repercussions. No need to bind gear, no worries about shattering, no Safety Lock hell (I recommend a 5-10 minute SL still, so it can still function for the reasons it really exists), etc. All for a few cents per death!

You can get them one of three ways, in order of difficulty (at least on Lost City): 1) Just hit the button to buy them in the Boutique; 2) Make them with tokens; 3) Buy them from other players/AH. I'll let other people debate which approach is cheapest. b:laugh

Just be sure to keep some in your inventory at all times as running out is just as bad as SL popping when you rely on the SL, and remember that they ONLY STACK TO TWENTY! So you might need to run to the bank occasionally if you're dying a lot. Of course, if you're dying, you're already near a banker. b:pleased

And due to the inevitability of someone asking if you can drop Guardian Scrolls, I refer to this older topic.

Anyhow, let me see if I can clear this all up in one post:


Safety Lock:
Ok you got yours set to 10 hours 1 minute currently. Now to reset this to 1 minute, press the safety lock button and set the time to 1 minute. Hit "SET" and then close out of the box.
NOW - You will still have a 10 hour 1 minute safety lock. It takes THREE DAYS for the safety lock to reset.


During this three days you can log in and out as you like, but until the 3 day (72 hour) time limit is up the safety lock will still be 10 hours 1 minute. IF YOU TOUCH THE SAFETY LOCK DURING THIS 72 HOUR (3 DAY) TIME PERIOD, THE CURRENT TIMER WILL RESET. (A.K.A. If you go into the safety lock menu during the 72 hour (3 day) period and set the SL to 1 minute AGAIN, it will RESET THE COUNTDOWN TIMER OF THE 72 HOURS BACK TO 72 HOURS (so if you had waiting 71:59 minutes, and during the last minute you touched the Safety lock and put it to 1 minute, IT WOULD RESET BACK TO 72 HOURS))


Now, as for what to do during the 10 hour 1 minute safety lock...there isn't much you can do about it. Just leave your computer on overnight to get it to time out, or just try and play your game like normal. Either way just try to make do with until it resets to 1 minute.


NOW; To address your thing about playing your archer... IF YOUR ARCHER IS ON THE SAME ACCOUNT AS YOUR ASSASSIN THEN YOUR ARCHER WILL ALSO HAVE THE 10 HOUR AND 1 MINUTE SAFETY LOCK. THIS IS BECUASE SAFETY LOCK AFFECTS THE WHOLE ACCOUNT IT'S USED ON.
Which means if you want to play without a safety lock, then you will have to use a different account to play.

I have a new gank-a-sin macro I've been meaning to test out in the world [I don't macro much, but I've gotten bored of hypered noob sins KSing while I try to quest/grind], since duels don't really give me appreciation of its abilities. Yeah I know....hell SL was the first thing I learned about when I dropped something from going white named on HT...

I was like "Oh shet! Ok...what prevents dropping....*looks around screen* what is this lock button thing o.O? *clicks, reads list and details* PERFECT! *sets to 25 minutes* Back to PK "

lol, yeah I started out on a PVE server back when I first joined.
But yeah, when i switched to a PvP server the first thing I did was relearn how to bind/SL/and carry dolls xD
Dropped a damn Astral Melody at lvl 30....bought a new one, bound it and have been using it ever since <.<
