[No Server Maintenance Tonight!] 6-28-11

Hey all, we will not be having Server Maintenance tonight.

I know some of you were eagerly awaiting a patch for the Chat Filter, but we needed to delay it for a few days in order to get prepared for some other exciting things that will be happening in the near future.

I can say no more...

    Anyways... i can understand the need for exciting updates but the main concern and/or priority of the censored names should be taken care of asap. You could at least give them that. Why would you further impeed the need for the players who have censored names... doesnt make sense imo...

    gee, if i had any illusions left as to this company's intentions or competency, this announcement would most brutally disillusion me.

    ...eh, PWE fails again. badly, in ways that **** over their customers insultingly and for no damn reason at all. and make handwaving excuses about pie in the sky that we'll get when we die to try (and fail to) cover their anal regions for it. in other news, water is wet and the sun rises in the east; what else is new?

    Maybe one of these days PWE will finish bugs within a week of them being found. Of course this is wishful thinking and will never actually happen as only frankie reads only some of these posts and never tells anybody about them.

    It probably would have been better to have the maintenance regardless, its not like there's nothing to fix, especially since its hurting people's playing experience.

    OMG a Mod that doesn't bow down to the powers of the GM's. ChaoticShelly, it was nice to have you as a mod, but if frankie has his way, you will probably be losing the position for not standing up for him in his absence on the forums (unless you grovel at his feet of course).

    Totally untrue. I've posted on the forums and spoken with Frankie about issues and concerns I've had about the game multiple times before and was never given the impression that my opinion doesn't matter or that its against the company - and that my position is in jeopardy because of that.

    Playing experience doesn't matter to PWE, only that you can successfully charge zen. If the CS was broken, you can bet your *** that PWE would've shut the game down the minute it was apparent.

    Me being mad about people abusing obvious glitches/bugs has nothing to do with the class i play, its about common sense and the ToS of PWI.

    Oh hey, yes they did. In July of 2010 we had emergency maintenance because an item was not on sale. Flash forward to almost a year to the date and we can't even get scheduled maintenance for an issue that obstructs gameplay. PWI has definitely done a 180 in terms of customer service, they used to care about gameplay issues such as making an exception and teaching people how to mod their game file so they could play with the old UI because it was obstructing game play. PWI this is pretty much the single worst thing you've done to your customers, ever. Worse than packs, worse thank rank 9, worse than sins. Because none of those things actually prevented people from playing. The QQ over that was largely just that, QQ, yes some of it was very legitimate. But at the end of they day the people who rage quit over it were mostly quitting because they couldn't be competitive and they wanted to be. They wanted to be able to keep up with the joneses and felt that the inability to unless they paid money for a free game was unfair. That's a personal preference. This issue has nothing to do with personal prefrence, or QQ, keeping up with the joneses. This issue is literally keeping people from playing by physically blocking them from being able to do something as simple as get squads.

    The Duke Rose price glitch allowed people to bilk millions in seconds when they NPC'd the set. PW shut the game down, pulled the set from the CS and rolled the servers back all in about an hour.

    I wasn't referring to that, that is the kind of emergency maintenance that is necessary. Can't have some people be able to take advantage of infinite coins and not others, especially since you can turn around and purchase things that other people have to spend real money on. Wouldn't be fair. But they shut.down.everything. over the fact dragon orbs weren't on sale, and snuck in a previously unannounced pack sale not to long ago. But they couldn't even be bothered to do scheduled maintenance for this, and it actually is game breaking for some people. And not game breaking in the QQ I can't roflpwn anyone I want to now! kind of way, or QQ I can't have all the best stuff in the game! kind of way. This is literally preventing people from doing something as simple as join a squad.
