Hi..
I have a strange bug that prevents me form using forum.. and it drives me crazy since I can't find the reason for the problem.. so maybe somebody can help me there.

When I try to open a forum page (any forum page), 99% of the time, the site loads and once the is completely visible, everything turns white and I get an empty page trying to download something. The only way to see a page is to interrupt the page loading once I see the first text showing.

I have this problem on Windows7 with Firefox and on my Mac laptop with safari and on Firefox and Safari at machines at work.

Any idea what the reason for that is?

I had the same problem. After installing a Firefox Adblock it worked just fine. :)

many other people have reported this problem. it seems somehow connected with some of the ad services used here; blacklisting googleadservices.com and doubleclick.net in your adblocking plug-in appears to solve it for most people.

Seems that fixed the problem :D Thanks a lot people!!!!

If this problem is well known, how comes its still there?
Is nobody managing this site?! b:angry

If I wasnt abel to find a way to load the page with interrupt I couldnt even post my question... I wonder how many people don't even use the forum anymore because of this bug.

Lots of us use IE9 and never encountered it in the first place b:victory

~I have noticed it the pop up to say the page was modified to prevent CSS however, around 25% of the time.(Cross Site Scripting (Tracking)). that option is on by default so its win b:cute

in defense of PWE (and it's rare i'll defend them, to be sure) this is one of the harder kinds of problems to address. it only seems to occur with some browsers/browser versions, it's only triggered by some of the ads in the advertising rotation, and the code at fault in those particular ads is probably not under PWE's control.

it's even possible they may be contractually unable to just cut out one ad from the rotation, or unable to; even just getting the complaint through to the right people may be cumbersome and tedious.

I have just read in the other threat that they are working on it... I guess i was a bit too fast with my typing :) but stuff like this really can ruin your day. Sometimes you want some informations fast.. you know where to get them and the simplest thing like loading of a page with TEXT don't work....... is just... argghghh

Anyway... ill keep my ad-blocker for now.

Same. Never had that problem with either Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.
