Perhaps I am missing something, but why are Celestial Insignia so expensive? In Heaven's Tear, they go for about 200k each. I know it's not the cape, which comes out to 500m+.

Most of the items can be obtained via Celestial Shards as well, and in fact Celestial Shards can be used to get some better items, in my opinion.

So, is there something obvious I'm missing?

    Celestial Shards cannot be traded and have to be earned. Meanwhile the Insignia can be bought up by the hundreds by any kid who finds her daddy's credit card and wants a pretty mount / outfit.

    The Insignia market crashed on sanctuary though after the free fashion give away.

    I see, so it's b/c of the demand from all the players who are not doing the Tiger's Event? I guess that makes sense.

    Clearly I need more coffee this morning.
