Defensive mode in PvP

Is it just me, or does this not work any more?
When attacked in PvP, the pet will follow the attacker around, using skills, but not actually doing any damage. The skill cooldowns are triggered but effects don't take place.

I've tested this on land, water and air, with the player attacking me or the pet, and they simply wont actually attack my attacker.

I submitted a ticket and they said 'check your pet settings', which is ridiculous since i'm talking about the pet on defensive mode, and in any other mode it wouldn't follow the attacker, let alone retaliate. The ticket response then suggested I discuss it here... So here we go, anyone else experiencing this?
