I figured i'll ask this here.
I've heard arguments on both sides (demon BM and Barb) with BMs having Fist Mastery and Barbs having higher HP + Demon Onslaught/Poison Fang.
So what do you guys think?

Go for Axes, they show more skill, style and nowadays, originality.

Fists are for losers no matter what class they are, but if you must, BMs because they are the only class that gets a damn mastery.

    I prefer Blademasters.

We have stuns, we have sprints, and we have great survivabilty in almost any given situation. I'll admit that Barbs have amazing HP and I'm actually rather envious of it but, meh, Blademasters just have so much more to them.

Since you're assuming both are Demon.. then you definitely want a Blademaster, we can put out some insane spike damage at end game (Demon GS cancelling anyone?) and have very powerful stunlock. That, combined with great survivability and a multipath build makes us a force to be reckoned with.

(And I say multi path because if you're going with fists, then you're obviously using that.. and if you only use fists and nothing else.. you're going to die. A LOT.) >.>

Depends on what you want to do.

If you just want to farm TT/Nirvana then go for barb IMO. Higher HP per vit, higher constant move speed, poison fang makes up for the damage loss by not having a mastery, and you will place in top 5 for Celestial tiger event way more often. Plus you never have to worry about running around all day looking for barb buffs and if you're willing to risk it you can glitch tiger form with claws to get the extra 30% hp and the 80% pdef from shapeshifting intensity.

At the same time you're limiting yourself a bit, the loss in HP from the lack of vit will make PvP more difficult although that is somewhat offset by the extra crit and accuracy you gain. I enjoy having 20% base crit + 2% from wep mastery + 35% from demon onslaught. Delta will be difficult if you aren't immediately able to get high refines + vit stones.

If you want to PvP and delta a lot then I would say go with the BM.

So for pure PvE then I'd say go with the barb, really the only thing that BMs have in PvE that I'm a bit jealous of is the marrows, for PvP go with BM.

Or you could do like me and just get both.

The hardest thing about playing a fist barb in PVP is no one stands still. Without having the stuns afforded to a BM you're relying on chance to keep someone stationary long enough to punch them down. The lack of skills (stuns, anti-stuns, sprint, mastery, and marrows) makes BMs a naturally better choice for PVP. I will say, however, the one thing that really helps barbs PVP wise is having solid shield. On a high str genie built for occult you can look at around 75% damage reduction.. its really nice for when getting ganked or tanking the mass rank 8/sin rush.

HP / Dmg wise.. the barb with a higher base HP pool can stat pure strength and do comparable damage to a BM with mastery statted pure vit. The BM still does more but its not much of a difference. Im sure someone who likes math can prove it if really needed. Of course, if you never PVP and just want a bot to punch things HP doesnt matter past a certain point. In that case a strength BM will always win the damage contest.

Well a long time ago, Archers were main DD's needed in dungeons cuz rarely fist bms and had like 4 5.0 peeps each server. But now there are about 50 5.0 toons in each server and Archers would only be good for hp debuff.
AP classes are a real butt pounding...

the rare 5.0 barbs are totally wanted in farming squads
they dont only deal loads of damage and can tank
they come along with a attack buff and hp buff xd

though u cant know now if further updates limit classes to weapons or nerf aps or both

i personally think Fist-barb is the best farming-alt
but then again its cheaper to build a squishie dex class towards 5.0
and i hate to play barb (eg: lvl it up and gear it up)
    i like potato

I totally agree with: Dakuken, but it's up to you if you want to pick Blademaster or Barbarian.

    Thanks for the input guys.
From what i gathered, its leaning towards Barb for more PVE based situations and BM for a better PVE/PVP balance. Also, where is it said that weapons were going to be class limited in future?

Yeah don't go fist-barb. In 2-3 months you'll get screwed when fist/claw is BM only weap.

It'll be pretty damn funny if they actually implement this, since so many Archers and Barbs I know will be so SCREWED xD Ah.. TT100 fists, gotta love 'em

My friend heard from some guy that in PW-CN they actually ended up making claws archer-only. Poor BMs...
