Fastest way to level a water pet

I know I know, just tame one at your level. However, does anyone have advice on the best way to level a water pet.

Just make sure its loyalty is high enough so you get good exp per kill for it?

Seriously there aren't any orange mobs which have a good spawn and are easy to kill for waterpets. =(

Become strong enough to kill the water mobs fast on your own rather than kill mobs 20 levels higher. It's really not worth it though.

My HA/AA veno alt (currently 65) did Ultrafin Protectors from 40-~59 (her Abysmal Turtle was actually a few levels under 40 when she started this regime), and then moved to Clam Scouts. Not fast, but you get the occassional fungus.

I did something like this with a level 5 turtle - she's now level 65 and can tank the lochmur guardian. To do it, you need to download the mob level map.

Basically, you look for water mobs the level your pet is, or slightly higher. You will hit a gap when the pet is level 60+. At this point I started with Dragonmaids south of Nameless Isle, they are level 76 and tend to gang up on you, so you need to pull. This is very slow, thats why I gave it up after a while. Still, the turtle can tank them. And thanks to my turtle, I got the Lochmur Guardian killed. Now I am waiting to get to level 80 to hatch my celestial plumpfish.

Mayfly - Dreamweaver

A level 5 turtle can tank the Lochmur Guardian Beast from the mid-50s with a second veno helping heal.
