Ok, currently i'm working on a project for a possible race for PWI.

Now, i know most people hate that other's will suggest new races or anything else.

But, right now, i'm not suggesting it. I'm trying to work out any possible bugs, kinks, etc. that can happen.

Right now, I want to ask for the help of:

Writers - I want help from you guys to write up descriptions for skill's/classes
Graphic Artists - I would like to ask you guys to help with images for the character's looks.
Video People - If you guys could possible show me some video's you've done or can show how to do (making like a trailer for something), i would be very happy.

Um.....If anybody else wishes to help out b:thanks

Edit: almost forgot, here is the link to the site:

I can see a few problems with the site right off the back. The first lies in the main page. If you want this 'new race' of yours to fit into the world of PW, then the elements should reflect this. Right now, you have the four western elements, instead of the five Chinese elements. I get the the graphic you used probably wasn't your design, but you could have gotten something more appropriate. There's also the little issue of the classes. You have three listed. Each race has two classes, why should this one get three? As it is right now, this new race doesn't really 'fit' into the mythology of Perfect World.

One idea I have is that if your really serious about this, you can make it for an entirely different game. Try rewriting the story for something different, and work with that. You can take the new race suggestions that others have given here (I think that Cursed race idea has gotten quite a following) and work it in as well. If you do that, then I'll be more than willing to lend my aid to the cause, and help as a designer for whatever game (real or hypothetical) that gets created from it.

    To the first problem:

Yes, the place i'm using to host the site doesn't give much options towards what I wish to convey. So, until i can figure out how to work the code they use to design the pages....I'm a little screwed :s

    To the second problem:

I put three classes as a basic. My thought was that if PWI didn't like one of the classes, they would have anothero option to look at to chose over the one they didn't like.
But, yes, I never planned for the race to have 3 classes. Only two.

I thank you help wise. If I can fully understand the basic concepts and programming behind MMORPG's, i will definitly go onto make one.

At the moment, you can consider me a "noob" in programming, seeing as i've only learned the basic's (and not really well because the teacher I had was a complete jackass and didn't teach us anything =.='').

Though, if you do feel like making any type of drawing's, or story wise help. I'll gladly accept it and work it into the race ^.^

(Side Note: I do plan to make a MMORPG, but not at the current time. Right now, I'm designed and planning the races, the locations, and how things will work. Do take note though, that my game is still on paper and hasn't been turned into code yet.)

It take a long time to make a game, I know this. I do have some experience making them. While I'm hardly a pro, in fact, I like you, can be considered something of a 'noob' when it comes to the total design process. All the experience I have took place in 2 years in a school with a game design major. I do know how to write up all the documentation that's needed to make it truly effective though, and can at least help you in that regard.

What your in is called the 'conceptual phase' of the design process. That is, getting the idea formulated and solidified for pre-production, which is where people start making some basic things for the game. This is really where people like me (designers) are the most useful, since we help get all the stuff that the programmers and artists need during production. And I probably know less about programing than you do, and have absolutely 0 artistic ability, so it would have to be designing as such.

The only problem I'm currently seeing right now, is the funding for the game.

I know I can figure up how much exp per lvl, total exp at end-game earned, the character role's, etc.
But the only thing I can't see a way to afford, besides selling out the idea to a big-name company and asking for a small cut of the profit, is to get the cash to fund it.

But, for now. I'm going to stay with planning out each step. Right now, i'm currently working on name's of different turfs in the game world, along with that i'm working with exp to next lvl (trickiest part. Can't be too high, nor too low...it has to be a middle ground >.<).

But, yes. I think i'll take this class, and transfer it to my game (I had already planned for a special restricted class like this one to be in the game I make. But i hadn't fully thought out everything on it).

Well, for now, just worry about getting the game mechanics down. That's the biggest part atm. Once you have a more complete design document, then you can work on getting the game built.

Actually, I'd recommend showing as many people as you can. Good games are very rarely the sole idea of one person. A collaborative effort can help you form ideas that you would never have thought of one your own. You do have to be a bit careful of who you show and which ideas you accept though, since some of them may sound cool, but aren't as good when you actually think of them. So what you can do, is get a group of friends together and show them what you have so far, and bounce ideas off each other.

Like I said, I can help you in that regard, but without the obvious advantage of being able to talk in person. If you want my help, you can set up what you have as a Google document, and send me the link via a pm. I'll add in comments and such, and change/add things (being careful to let you know what I changed), then send it back to you. Then rinse and repeat until you are satisfied with what's there.
