    well it possible to tank world bosses with the cactopod? Any bosses where the longer range helps? I looked at the stats and the marksman has more HP and phys attack but less mag def, and phys defense. I was really just wondering where the advantages of the celestial sting would be useful.

    The difference in HP more than makes up for the small difference in mdef.

    The Celestial Sting is great for the Snowmen at Xmas time, the heads in FF/FC, Array Guards in OHT, luring (giving you extra space to back up), luring Harpies in FF/FC, etc

    ... just in case this is a serious question: Because some bosses have really REALLY puny ranged attacks (the most obvious example doe sin fact deal NO damage at range) so whilst stepping in close is suicide, a ranged pet can be a very good idea.

    Eldergoth marksman/sharpshooter. Celestial sting (and some lower level cactopods which have a REALLY short range.) There's a penguin-type ranged pet from one of the FB89s, too, but I forget the name.

    whats about the ethereal ima cactopod from eden lv91 or so catopod from eden anyone testet the range yet compared to sting?

    The higher level cactopods from Eden have a noticeably greater range than the marksman. However, the marksman has better rounded stats (hp, pdef, mdef). If you only want to use the pet to lure, the Eden cactopods are better. If you're going to try to do some of the stuff tweakz does with a ranged pet, you're better off leveling up a marksman. Although by the time you can tame stuff in Eden, you should have a max pet bag anyway and be able to have both.
