Repairing shattered equipment

I have a problem. When i go to the black smith to repair my shattered equipment the button that says repair is still locked even though i have the required materials.

Why isnt it working and what is missing? Do i have a higher craftman skill/black smith skill to be able to repair ?

    I've never used the Repair Shattered Gear option, so I don't know about it. But I pay coins to repair gear.

    Go to any NPC that sells you things, choose Goods, then within the trade list, search for the "repair" button at the bottom. Roll over your gear and it'll show you the required repair fee. Click on your equip and it'd be repaired.
