Problem doing Sacred Beast Quest

OK...I reported to the pet trainer at The City of the Lost. I went and killed a Rhondike (spelling ?), the meat went into my quest bag. But now it won't let me farm the three flowers to set the trap. Was I suppose to go back to the Pet Trainer for more instructions? b:cry Any help please. Thanks
