What are the most common ways to get banned? I RPK a lot and I hear all different sorts of rules about everything to everything from all different players concerning rules that get you banned. Can anyone comment an affinitive and complete list? I don't wanna accidently do something bad!

Some of my specific questions are as follows:

Is it bannable to RPK inside SP? What about outside the entrance?

I know selling your account is bannable, but what about trading?

Is it against the rules to RPK someone while they are killing mobs?

    As far as PvP goes the only bannable offense is doing it in such a way to prevent gameplay (repeative killing to the point they cant enjoy the game, by this I mean stalking the person to a horrible extent, it takes a bit of doing to get banned for this offense.), pking in instances is free roam.

    As for selling/trading. It's bannable period, transferring the account is agains't the rules whether sold, traded, given, or otherwise.

    I believe it is bannable inside, not sure about right outside.

    Absolutely it is. If simply sharing your account with someone is bannable, trading accounts with someone also would be.

    I can't imagine it is. Maybe if it could be proved you were following them around endlessly harrassing them, it might be an issue. Just wandering past someone, killing them, and going on your way shouldn't be bannable.

    playing the game is bannable, per their ToS

    they have the right to ban you for any reason, or for no reason at all


    Secret Passage is bannable to pk inside. outside, no idea
    if you pk someone inside it on a pvp server, expect a ban

    saying a certain shock website's name in reference to the dead or alive song 'you spin me round round baby,' warrants a ban as 'linking to hardcore p0rnography.' (they say even without the .com part, its a 'link' as well, which i dont get but whatever.)

    PK in secret passage is bannable. Too many low leveled questers get camped in there.

    As for outside, it's fair game, as long as you're not continuosly preventing people from getting in (camping: ie - killing the same 3x more than 3-4 times maybe)

    RPK while they're attacking mobs - nope :) feel bad if the mob kills them, but they're SoL if they wanna QQ about it.

    Such bs lol, either fix the game or let PKers PK in a PK zone. I bet a lot of people haven't even heard of this "rule", I know I never read or heard about it before this thread...

    It might suck (I for one had a great war with Hate in there once :D they pwned our fac but it was a blast) but it is a rule. Thank the noobs that aren't smart enough to screenie and ticket when it does happen though. Personally, I appreciate the rule as much as I loathe it because the only times I go in sp anymore is to get something done for my guild, during which I don't want to be bothered by rpk'ers.

    Beggers can't be choosers, I know :P but it does occasionally escalate to a ridiculous point when people camp sp at times.

    Seriously, if you think you might get banned just don't do it. Common sense? There isn't a list. There is an open ended legal document. Read the Terms of Service and use your own judgment.

    I'm not sure how hard patching different parts of the game is, but making SP a safe zone doesn't seem too daunting a task. And yes, pkers should be allowed to pk in a safe zone.

    If SP was a safe zone, and pkers where using a abusing glitch to kill people or something I'd say by all means ban away.

    why is it bannable to pk in secret passage? i see people pk in there all the time. ok not all the time but many times. if it was really a safe zone it should say safe zone when you go in and the game shouldn't allow it. that way no one gets confused. i am not for or against this, just a question.

    and as for 'safe zones' such as cities, i've had some bosses/ mobs chase me all the way to town when i was trying to get away from them. usually they run back after a certain distance but some don't. i don't consider that a safe zone. but then that's a different topic.

    On a PvP server, it's now a bannable offence to PK in Secret Passage because of the number of people there who need quests. Not everybody at level 3x wants to stone to the FB, and you need to go through SP to get to Dismal, Shade Eido, etc. etc. Too many high level PK noobs were camping the area and killing the lowbies for fun - and then the lowbies complained about it and there you have it.
    Personally on a PvE server, I don't think it should be bannable to PK in there. After all, if you go white named, expect to get PK'd in anywhere that isn't a safe zone. That's sort of the whole point. But, again, people complained about getting griefed while trying to help noobs and suchlike, and thus it's as bannable on PvE as it is on PvP.

    Also, safe zones are only designed to be safe zones against PKers. Nowhere does it actually say that a safe zone is going to protect you from mobs and if you seriously thought that at your level, all I can say are the words "common sense"
    Because by the time you reach level 10 you should have already learnt safe zone =/= protection from mobs.

    SP is a PK zone for certain PK reasons.

    If your guild is KOS to another the members can get away with PKing in there. The part that is bannable is the constant RPKing that takes place where a few 9x won't let anyone through.

    Selling your account is bannable. Trading your accounts is bannable since I would place that int he category of sharing accounts.

    Camping someone for a prolonged time period can be deemed bannable but GM's investigate and deal penatlies per incident.

    So many actions come with warning prior which can lead into bans like verbal harasment.

    The list goes on and on.

    people get banned for pk'ing at all in SP nowadays

    hell, sometimes you get banned if you are standing near someone who pk's someone while in there

    I still see Red names battling it out in there. I don't see randomness really but Pknig still goes on in there.

    I'm sure making a topic about banning is bannable.

    It is bannable to pk inside SP? LOL! The GM's should check out SP on Sanctuary then. Most PK'ers PK right where you enter SP (inside). When they're bored, they lure Dismal and/or Frost to the safe zone too.

    People get banned for all kinds of reasons....why would anyone care?

    If you get banned you get banned...your fault. And there is NO way of knowing why many get banned since they do not discuss their reasons for doing so....
