In Eastern time, at both 12:20 AM (Midnight) and 3:20 PM (Afternoon) you can talk to the Adventure Assistant or the Khatru Pup and enter the Daily Dungeon Race once a day. The actual race starts at approximately 12:30 AM and 3:30 PM.

Basically all you do is that once it is time (you'll know because of the announcement) is talk to the starting poles at the beginning and you can start racing around this island against other people as fast as you can. You have to go around the island three times (when you finish, you need to talk to the pole again). You will get a Badge of Speed and 5k EXP as a reward (I think). The Badge of Speed gives you 2k Spirit, but if you take ten to the Sage guy on the bridge in Archosaur, he'll exchange it for a Sign of Speed, which gives 22k Spirit, and sells nicely.

If you're lucky to finish before other people, you can dig the chest on the mountain for a Monthly Dungeon Ticket thing (don't know exact name)...but unfortunately, those are useless atm...but I'd save them anyway.

yes you can, only land mounts tho. but you can still go on foot if you are mountless.
